This is my first attempt at writing anything. I'm not sure if it is a poem or just a collection of my thoughts.

Anyway, here it is.

she asked me to bear my soul, and show her the depths of my life
I uncomfortably unzipped my skin, and shook it off like an old wet coat
standing there exposed, I walked to the mirror not knowing what I'd find

I did not recognize this person, who was it and where did I go?
all that I'd seen was now gone, all that I'd known was left on the floor
in a pile of flesh

now it was just me, my soul, my reflection, and the thought that I never
really knew who I was

as I turned to her and bared my shame, a tear rolled down her cheek
as I called her name,
she said lovingly as she stepped over my life, It wasn't that hard now was it?
you can explore everything you desire, now that your free from what made you
what you never wanted to be.

I thanked her as I took her hand, and led her away from my sacred land
I will see you again soon I hope, for all of this is just so hard to cope

and I slowly zipped up my shell, my existence, my wet coat
and I pulled the hood up over my head, and walked back out into the cold,
hoping someday I would recognize that figure in the mirror,
before it was too late and I got too old.

Lol, u kidin me, dis can't and would never have been your first attempt at writin, dat stuff is 4rm the hand of a master, look how fabulous u sounded with ur descriptive outlay. I'd want to read more from you. Great job.
