Ondo State governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, has recruited 400 fresh hands into the state Civil service through the Board of Internal Revenue to further boost the revenue drive of the state and provide opportunities for the youths.

The Governor, at an induction programme for 234 of the 400 newly employed workers held at the State Information Center (SITA), described revenue generation as the most important aspect of governance.

Akeredolu said that growing the state economy by increasing the revenue generation, while at same time creating job opportunities for the youths remain a priority of his administration.

He said growing the state economy through increased revenue generation became important so as to reduce over - dependency on the dwindling monthly Federal allocation.

Governor Akeredolu said the repositioning of the Board has made it possible for the state to emerge as the highest in the IGR growth.

He commended the chairman of the agency for his performance which has led to increasing revenue growth in the state.

Akeredolu charged the new intakes to shun all corruptible act that can affect their productivity, stressing that they must work hard as the state depends on them.

He said " Revenue generation is the most important aspect of governance because without money, you can not do nothing. The government will be paralysed without money

" Revenue generation is the most important. Your projection and budget depend on revenue. You are important because the state will now depend on your shoulder

" We have had appreciable increase in our revenue growth and FG came back and said we are number one in the country for appreciable growth.On Quantum in Revenue generation, before we came it was number 20 and today we are number nine. "

Chairman, Ondo State Internal Revenue Service, Mr Tolu Adegbie expressed gratitude to the Governor for the recruitment exercise, which he said, had boosted the strength of the personnel for effective coverage of the State.
