Provisional diagnosis has killed many, but doctor's won't hear... See eh, if u go to any hospital and after telling the clinician how u feel, and he quickly prescribes drugs for u, please run... If he doesn't conduct test for u, u might end up in a big mess like this... So sorry bro for what ur going through ... Go to a good hospital and insist that tests be ran... That combination sef the doc gave u is making me puke... Some clinicians will die miserable deaths for how callously they treat patients

The blame should go to the government not doctors. Be reasonable for once,our health system is in shambles hence it calls for attention. The same doctors you condemn are doing well abroad

I advice you urgently see a consultant neurologist. I highly doubt your symptoms have anything to do with the injection as you had a;ready been experiencing symptoms before then. Secondly, if you the needle hit a nerve, you'd only expect to see symptoms in the injected leg.
There are many causes of paraesthesia but one important diagnosis to consider is Guillan-Barre . If you had a bout of diarrhea during this period and noticed the symptoms first in your legs before your hands, including weakness , this would incline towards the earlier mentioned diagnosis.

I've heard a lot of stories about corper doctors in camp, I've once been a camp doctor, the clinic is appalling and there's noone who's going to run a comprehensive test.

This is not the time to wail. If you're not on admission already, get to a neurologist ASAP and be prepared to do lots of tests.

I was in NYSC permanent orientation camp Mangu, Plateau State for NYSC orientation exercise. After eating launch that was served in camp on the 12-August-2018 I started having severe heartburn, painful urination, abdominal discomfort and also felt like fainting. I took plenty of water that day and went to bed. I woke up the next day which was the day of the camp closing ceremony feeling much worse so I rushed to the camp clinic. I was given ciprofloxacin and metronidazole tablets by a doctor who was a corp member. No lab test was done to ascertain the cause of my problem. I took the tablets but didn't feel better.

As time went on my situation got worse and I struggled to walk so I decided to leave the camp and find a medical facility outside where I could receive proper treatment. When I got to the gate of the camp I was stopped by a police man. He told me I was not allowed to leave the camp until the closing ceremony was over. I told him about my health issue and that I wanted to find a medical facility outside the camp where I could get proper treatment but he still refused to let me leave and insisted that I should use the camp clinic instead. I went back to the camp clinic and there I was given an injection on the right thigh by a doctor who was a corp member.

In the previous days in camp I applied for relocation. It was not granted so I went to pursue the matter. I returned to the camp clinic later to complain that my situation was not improving but I was Ignored. I sat in the consulting room and waited but the doctors acted as if no body was sitting there. I didn't even collect my posting letter that day because I was busy pursuing my health issue. I returned home (to Abuja) that day.

Two weeks later I started having severe burning pain in the leg that was injected. The leg felt very cold but was not cold to the touch. Immediately the pain started I knew it was the injection I received at the NYSC camp that caused it. The pain is very severe in the foot and also in the thigh that was injected. The burning pain has subsequently spread to all parts of my body. I feel it all over my head and my face and its causing me constant headache. The burning pain is the type you have after very hot water pours on your skin. I also have tingling (sensation of being stabbed with pins and needles) in my hands and right foot. My right leg has become very tender to the touch making walking, sitting, and lying with the leg touching a surface very painful.

Recently my right foot has started to go numb on one side. Whenever the pain is very severe I start thinking of ways to take my life. I have been to different hospitals and also took medication but no improvement. The pain is only worsening. I wish for death everyday but death is not coming. I have informed the NYSC Zonal inspector and also LGI (Local Government Inspector) in my place of primary assignment about my situation and also discussed with my LGI in January 2019 about them summoning the corp member doctors who were with us in camp so I could identify the one who injected me and get information about what he injected me but he told me that it will be difficult or almost impossible to do that. I don't know what to do now.

Before all this happened I was planning to venture into business full time. These days I can't even concentrate when performing activities such a studying, thinking, and reflecting because of pain and constant headache. Am i pain 24/7. The best I do when the pain is at peak is manage to sleep. I have lost interest in everything including life. Has any one reading this been in a similar situation or know what I can do now to get out of this situation. I'd like to get your inputs..
Death looks more attractive to me everyday. It seems like the best option available now. I never knew all my dreams and aspirations would be shattered by just one injection shot.

Its most likely gonna be guallin barre syndrome. A situation where the immune system is attacking the nervous system. Its very rare. Nigerian hospitals don't have d facility to detect it. You have had a bacterial infection which ur body was fighting initially but the bacteria left pieces of antigens on ur nerves and some parts of ur body system. Dats y d lymphocytes are attacking ur nerves. Its an error which rarely happens. It usually leads to paralysis of half of d body and stroke (may not happen). A friend of mine had it in my school 2yrs back. Half of his body went numb. the doctor in my school told him some things to do to help him recover. He recovered after some months.

Pls dont forget the most important thing prayer. Pray to God concernin your problem.

The same drugs I finished taking.. After I finished treating malaria the next drugs that was given to me was ciprofloxacin for antibiotic (typhoid) after taking the drugs the kind of headache and fever I had it was by d grace of God..
Till now I feel headache but not every time.. But I always feel as if the headache is due 2 the kind of work I do.

Sorry about your condition. Meanwhile, you should go and see a neurologist. Go to any teaching hospital or federal medical centre close to you and request to see a neurologist. You may need MRI of the spine done if you're having pins and needles in the limbs.

The doctor injected you with one of the following:

1. methylprednisolone sodium succinate injection (Solu-Medrol) (given intravenously).
2. triamcinolone (Kenalog).
3.betamethasone (Celestone), 4.methylprednisolone (Depo-Medrol)

They are steroid injections with lasting side effects.

You obviously contracted a bacterial infection in those dirty camp environments and the novices that treated you didn't do a good job!

If they didn't have labs around to work with, the best thing should have been to allow you go get properly treated in town.

Go to a teaching hospital nearest to you and see a urologist for proper diagnosis and treatment!

Take that Epsom Salt therapy seriously, Epsom Salt has magnesium in it, so it will pull out toxins from your body. But I recommend you buy huge quantity, it is very cheap and I have a lot of it at home always. You can buy it from drug stores. But I suggest you filll a bath with water, load the water with up 5kg or more of Epsom salt and stay immerse yourself hours daily. Don't pour out the Epsom salt water, so you can soak yourself daily for a week and repeat the process. Epsom salt will pull out the toxins. I personally do not trust any drug and neither can I allow any doctor come close to me. They know nothing about the Human System and I mean it.

Ps: a consultation visit to a Neurologist will also be beneficial to rule out any organic cause...

Op please listen please go for a H. Pylori test for bacteria in the stomach it has been known to cause physiological problems of different no concrete symptoms and get treated for the it your symptoms will disappear i suspect it has to do with the food you ate... Please don't ignore this.. Your symptoms sounds familiar to me... Hope this helps

I remember when my friend was sick in camp.... he went to camp clinic.... dunno what they even gave him.... he throw dem away when he noticed that the drugs didn't match the ailment.... he went to mami market to buy wat will just sustain him till he leaves the camp......

I will suggest you start taking magnesium and soak your legs in epsom salt mag to get them better absorbed into your skin you can bath with them too .. just my suggestion

Cipro...oga na master. I don't usually have side effects after taking drugs. But when I jam that evil drug called cipro...i bowed

Don't give up bro was told a story by my mum of how I couldn't work for weeks after being injected by a doctor. No be small gbege that time my mum almost brought down the hospital with wahala and cry and everything a mother could do. A specialist was later brought in from overseas by the hospital to follow up on my case and God willing I started walking back. Try seeing a specialist and most importantly put it in prayer.

I don't think you are reacting to whatever he injected you with because the tinkling sensation & inflammatory pain is a known symptom of neural damage. It make sense considering the fact you experience all this on your right leg (on the limb you were injected?).

What is puzzling though is the fact that you are experiencing the same symptoms on your right hand.

Anyway, Don't give up on life. Seek professional help.
