Growing up in PH in the late 90s and early 2000s was tough.. the battle was between Secondary schools. Those days na Men dey go secondary school. In town( old PHC) it was between Stella Maris college AKA suffer man college (SMC) Vs the rest ( Enitonia high school, comprehensive and Baptist) the boys of those schools no get chill. I could remember during Abacha's regime transport,was increased from 5 naira to 20 naira( from mile 1 to town vice versa) that was the only time that all the secondary schools came together and worked as one body to reduce the transportation fare. That day both commercial and private vehicles had to put green leaves on their vehicles to show solidarity with students if not your car will be destroyed.. I guess this was one of the reasons that attracted cultism into secondary schools. There was a time that every family in PHC had a cult member, it was as bad as that. The major reason was intimidation and pair influence. Diobu was majorly conquered by Bobos while town was owned by Germans ( viking affiliates I.e JVC, Icelanders, Greenlanders). When you move from diobu to town you are considered an enemy whether you belong or not. You may be tagged a spy and if caught only God or Orientation can save you. Many young men had to join frats so as to belong to a family were they run to when being intimidated because Police will not help you. Your father may arrest the cultists but you will soon see them outside again. When they come for you this time they may maim you or if you are not lucky kill you and run away.
Many of us had no other option than belong. There were fights between streets and if you were hit and you do not belong to the street confranternity no one will retaliate. I thank God PHC is a better place today

Growing up in warri has never been easy, there have not been a single day we weren't running for our lives.
I was a kid who was averagly smart or should i say 4/10 when it comes to being brilliant. Due to by briliancy at the age of 10 i was already in JSS2 that was when i knew life was not all about rice every Sunday and Christmas clothes every December. note: for those of you saying those involved in cultism got involved or are still involved cause they like to, you are totally wrong. At age 11 I was already contemplating joining Vikings confraternity cause of my environmental exposure and i was way bigger than my exact age. I've got friends who were in one cult or the other but they know too well wlthat when they come inside my compound it's truce for all. My father not being there for me while growing up contributed alot to my stubbornness. I could swear the trouble I brought back home could kill a mentally fit human being talk more of my mom who was battling depression for my absent dad who took all her wealth and went to live with another woman, I regret ever stressing that woman whenever i think of things I've done in the past, good thing she's been my back bone since i came to know christ. Back to cultism. We in warri know back in 07, 08, 09 at hausa quarters the only reigning fear was AMARU, TALKS and DOMINION. I lost many people i knew while growing up to the cold hands of death due to thier involvement in cultism. Who told you hausa people don't belong to cults? Come to hausa quarter warri after the garage you'll see hausa men capping O.Ts clawing, biting, lacking egede. I got my own fair share of intimidation from my street boys as at then my dad was not around and being the only boy in the whole of my compound cause my senior bro was schooling at onitsha a boarding school there. I had no one to stand for me. My mom goes to the market she doesn't see most of the things happening back at home unless I choose to tell her. With so much intimidation coming from left and right I sought help from my friend who's a jew, it was suppose to be jew and Jews teaming up to fight my oppressor but instead my friend a hausa guy involve his brother who's a Viking member executioner at that time one thing led to the other what was suppose to be a fight between two sets of innocent boys turned out to be a full blown war between Vikings vs dominion vs atlos.
I'll be writing how they wanted to inie me into Vikings and I.J.B respectively when next I'm chanced
