Hon. Umar Bago, the voice of the good people of Chanchanga Federal Constituency of Niger State in the House of Representatives is 45years old and for that matter, a three term ranking member who seeks to be Speaker of the 9th House of Representatives.

One of the qualities that distinguishes him from the pack is: he's #relatable. Asides the fact that he speaks Hausa and Yoruba fluently, he is a team player, intelligent and courageous.

Umar Bago is a thoroughbred party man. From his exploit at CPC in 2011 to the alignments that saw to the amalgamation of several other Parties which birth the APC, the astute lawmaker has remained loyal and committed to Party ideologies and principles.

Niger, the home State of Bago in the North Central zone are progressives in spirit, soul, body and VOTE; they delivered wonderfully for APC in 2015 and excellently in the just concluded 2019 general elections.

Distributing our Nation's leadership position among the existing six (6) Geopolitical zones from May 29, 2019; the North West already has the President, South West has the Vice President. APC has zoned the Senate President to North East and all major contender are from the zone with a possibility of Deputy Senate President from South South.

Two "consolation position" left in-between the North Central and South East are the Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives. How deeply our APC Leaders thought these arrangements through is a discussion that's better left for other days.

The 360 Distinguished Honourable members at the Green Chamber are of divers political party, with the sole responsibility to deliver the best for themselves and their constituents, they therefore needs an enabling environment to function.

Peace is not the absence of conflict and crises, it is the presence of Justice and Equity. The choice of Bago as the Speaker of the 9th Assembly will give hope to the young generation, fairness, innovations and development to all.

Hon. Mohammed Umaru Bago is close to his colleagues, relates well with the Executive and accepted by Party hierarchy. The young, dynamic and sociable Niger State-born lawmaker is most suited to become the #Speaker of the incoming 9th #House of #Representatives.

If you ask me and I dare say Bago has no baggage! and so, it's better for the party to take ownership of him because he is becoming the best and preferred choice for the majority of his colleagues, irrespective of political affiliation.
