These time it is been pratice in a Northern Arabic system of schooling (Almajiri School) in sokoto state.

Daily Nigerian, an online newspaper has reported that an Almajiri school pupils in Arkilla area of Sokoto metropolis have confessed that their teacher, Murtala Mode, had serially raped them.

The pupils, aged between four and 15, also said the teacher also collects money from some external homosexual clients and force the children to submit themselves to sexual acts.

The Sokoto state Police Command has arrested one Malam Murtala Mode, a teacher of Almajiri School in Arkillan Magaji area of the state for allegedly having unlawful and forceful sexual intercourse with six of his pupils.
