Newcastle have incredibly entered the race to sign Kylian Mbappe, the Mirror UK reports.

The newspaper quoted major bookmakers as saying that Newcastle’s price for the player is the same as those by Liverpool and Juventus.

Their best price of 25/1 to sign the youngster is shorter than Barcelona’s (40/1), Man United’s (66/1) and Bayern Munich’s (80/1).

Incredibly, 64 per cent of all bets in the last 24 hours have backed Mbappe’s Newcastle switch, with Real Madrid the second most backed with 8 per cent of bets.

Real Madrid have remained the 4/1 favourites to sign the 20-year-old in the transfer window.

Newcastle are gearing up for their 51st season since winning a major trophy; the Inter-Cities Fairs Cup in 1969.

The Magpies are on the verge of being taken over by billionaire, Shiekh Khaled and the PSG forward would be the biggest signing in the club’s history.
