The laws of this country make it a crime to benefit from the procceds of stolen property.

If someone stole your money, and used it to buy gifts for his or her mother, and the police traced them, would you be that forgiving.??

But it was d institution which is owned by a church that brought d police into d matter

N180m Covenant University fraud: Drama as suspect’s mother resists recovery of vehicle

Our Reporter by Our Reporter June 1, 2019

THE last is yet to be heard in the case of N180 million allegedly pilfered from the purse of the Covenant University, Otta, by a guru in its IT unit. There are indications that more people will be picked up in connection with the fraud.

Already, assorted cars have been recovered from the suspect, including one from his mother’s house in Otta.

But the recovery of the exotic car was not without some drama as the woman was said to have resisted the release of the car, saying she could not understand why an outsider would demand the release of a car her son bought for her.

The poor woman was said to have been particularly miffed that an institution with a religious background would be involved in the effort to strip her of her God-given property, saying that the joy of every mother is to enjoy the fruits of her womb.

But officials of the EFCC would have none of her homilies and have since taken the vehicle away as the anti-graft agency continues its effort to recover the loot.

Can't Oyedepo forgive and forget.

That's what the Bible preaches.

He should leave him to God.

But at a time, Baba knows their is no God. Religion is a salvery tool. Baba will fight for his money.

180M is too much to leave for God to deal with grin

Lol only if you know how much stealing goes on in that church.

How many they have covered up.

I even heard his own family member siphoned money, Baba was speechless.

The 50k they give the poor to start business branch pastors will take 30 NAD give 20k to them through cunning ways.

Even the free bus system ended because of corruption.

You are jokingly funny. When the Sheraton accountant from way back stole the establishment's money and gave to Mr puff puff mouth as tithe, when he was later caught and asked about the whereabouts of the funds which some were traced to the puff puff mouthed man, he was asked to refund the cash but Mr puff puf refused, saying the cash was given to God, he was not bothered by the authorities thereafter. Where were you and this line of defence? Make una just fear God, just because she's a nobody, EFCC will not let her be.

Good evening.

I don't know what you are talking about, but at the time, I beleive I (I was not a member of this forum then)...stated clearly that the minister in question should refund the stolen money.

I am not here to defend any of the 'men of God' and I beleive I have made myself clear about how I regard 'word of faith' ministers, Oyedepo inclusive.

But the money stolen was school fees money..money paid for the purposes of paying student fees for Oyedepo's university, .....money that would be used to pay staff salaries, build facilites for students and so on.

So if you beleive that the man should have kept the stolen money because you beleive that he was stealing from 'theives'....you are no better than the theiving men of God you don't like.

Stealing is stealing....and the law is clear....you cannot benefit from stolen property. As for tithes and offerings to Living Faith church...people willingly paid that money with their own hands to that church. Regardless of my negative feelings towards Oyedepo...he did not force them to give him money, and if people cannot resist emotional manipulation, then they need divine help.

Good evening.

No hard feelings bro, no hard feelings, just that these thieves just make Africa and Christianity a fuccking joke. But it's true re my narrative. It actually happened and the ordained thief got away with the stolen funds. I wasn't saying the lady is right at what she tried to do but had she been a force like Mr puff puff, believe you me she wouldve kept that ride.
It is well.

That is the society we found ourselves. No values and morals.

Most Nigerians are guilty of this. How can a son whose salary is say, N150,000 is flaunting wealth and their parents didn't ask "how come, son?".

You see boys of 25yrs driving Mercedes Benz GLE 400 but no known job and their parents " enjoy" their wealth without asking questions.

In our days, if you behave like that, your father will report you to the authorities.

You dare not sef. Fear will not allow you. Morals have been thrown to the wind. The society now celebrates ills.
