My brother who is a PhD student from a foreign University in Asia recently travelled to Togo and from Togo, he came down to Nigeria with his Togolese friend and this trip was legal with their International passports duly stamped by Im migration Service on countries boarder. On their way to Nigeria, the boarded a taxi and when the pass Nigeria boarder and almost at Iyaniki, the taxi driver answer a phone call and stop pretending to urinate and within 15 seconds, SARS police team surrounded them and took them to a police station at Iyaniki and threatened to shot them. They were told to removed their shirts and given the beatings of their life including the Togolese friend that came to Nigeria for the first time. Imagine the image given to a foreigner about Nigeria on his first time of visit. It was obvious that the taxi driver was an accomplice and when they noticed that they had money with them, at gun point they were told to transfer the money to them or get shot which they did and they were told to go after forcing the to write statement under duress. All plea and tendering of their international passport fell into deaf ears.
Friends, he and his friends arrowly escape (who knows) from the hands of these SARS team. Lawyers and right activist, how do we report this Randy men to higher police authority in Abuja so that justice can be served and his money recovered. You can imagine the crime these men have committed. At least to the Inspector General of Police and Government. Appreciate your advice and escalation. thanks

Just be sure they are real police officers, then go straight to the commissioner of police office. You must try the commissioner first before the IG. Good luck

Who will u be reporting to the IGP? I'm saying so because the story u painted as far as Nigeria criminal law is concern, is near empty. I'm not saying that the incident u painted did not or did happened. Do u have the identity of any of the SARS men in question? like their name, even if it's the of name of just one of them or force number? If not how do u established that they were actually police personnels? Now the car with which your brother & his friends from Togo were moving in, do u have it registration number?. Do u also have any pictorial evidence of the alleged beating by the SARS men of your brother & his friends & finally, evidence of the alleged (stealing) forceful transfer of your brother's money & that of his friends at gun point? If u can provide these information, then we can take up the matter with the Police authorities from there. If u are ready, get in touch with us via the number: 08108072967.

Don't scare the op all these things you listed below don't matter at all as long as the victims know the actual date and time the incident occurred. OP get your lawyer or go to human right commission sue DPO in charge of this zone.

Thanks you for your concern, they SAR men wored normal t shirts and jeans without names and they used all this danfo bus. The only evidence is the statement written at the police station at Ijaniki and the transfer he made. Those guys were so careful that the make sure they did not bring out their phones at all nor took pictures. Will chat you up for further discussions.
