Sea turned red with hundreds of whales killed in Faroe Islands

The ocean turned red in Torshavn, the capital of Streymoy Island in the Faroe Islands as hundreds of whales and dolphins were slaughtered by villagers on Wednesday.

About 250 pilot whales and dolphins were lanced by specially made hunting spears, water mixed with blood flying in the air as they had their last breath on the Earth.

These animals had been passing the area during their migration before being driven towards the shore by fishermen on boats, who killed them while people on the shore watched the hunt.

The inhabitants regard whaling as a community activity, and the local government says the hunting is sustainable.

Each year, about 800 pilot whales are killed across the Faroe Islands, the North Atlantic archipelago located halfway between Norway and Iceland.

It is about time this barbaric practice is stopped forever. The above pictures are so heart-breaking to see.

Those whales are mammals, like us humans, and they actually cry out in pain, as they are hacked to death by those heartless people.

The planet can no longer sustain this type of butchery, regardless of whether or not it is perpetrated under the guise of "tradition".

If those people cannot live without this horrible annual slaughter of whales, then they should leave those islands and go live in Norway.
