The Speaker, Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, on Thursday said he was proud that the state legislature had become a resource institution to its counterparts across the country.

He spoke at the final plenary and valedictory session of the 8th Assembly, where he thanked the lawmakers and all staff members for their support which made the feat possible.

He said he was happy to have been speaker of the best parliament in the country, with competent and well trained legislators.

Obasa said he was satisfied with the modest achievements of the assembly and urged the incoming 9th Assembly to give support to Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

Earlier, legislators took turns to appreciate the each other’s contributions.

Eleven members of the 8th Assembly, will not be part of the 9th Assembly to be inaugurated on Friday..

The lawmakers who couldn’t secure return tickets to the house during the are: Messrs Akeem Bello (Amuwo Odofin II), Bayo Osinowo (Kosofe) and Sola Giwa (Lagos Island)

Osinowo won the senatorial seat to represent Lagos East in the Senate

Others are: Oladele Adekanye (Lagos Mainland I) and Dayo Famakinwa (Ajeromi-Ifelodun I).
