DammyNwodo1999: Just wondering how you will use this course back home, it doesn't look like you can build any ties with it. Why do you want to study American Culture? Also if you have a BSc already, going to a community college is a No No. 3 Likes |

If you reapply 10 times with this course and College, they will deny you 11 times. You have never been to America, the lingua franca of Nigeria is English and you wish to further your knowledge of English in America, something you can do from your bedroom with search engines or in a school in Nigeria conveniently. If I was a VO I would think you wish to run away from the country or you want to spy on their country. Take the proper exams and apply to Universities in US for a different course. If you wish to know about American culture, you can find schools that offer it as an elective. DammyNwodo1999: 10 Likes |

Hey guys I eed formal advice and information too. Cause I'm in a delema. 1st. My i-20 has not gotten to me yet. And my school is resuming on the 21st of this month. I don't know if I can go to the POE with a scanned copy? Please I need advice on this. 2nd. I've not booked my ticket cause my sponsor has been saying different things of recent. I believe it's all trials and tribulations atm. But at the same time I feel after everything I might need to request for an arrival extension from my school. Cause I might travel later than the official classes resumption. Please how do I go about this? These things I'm stating in text rn is far more painful than it appears but I don't know how to even narrate everything here. I need your help guys, I'll be waiting. I am sorry for not posting and giving appreciation to people who helped with their advice and info. Of course there's shawarma (idk if I got the spelling right), Lagosismyhome, the king to queen shawarma ( sorry, I can't remember your handle at the moment) and also lots and loads of people who posted their transcripts and gave their advice to others in need and I tapped into them and created my own imaginary experience and confidence. I apologise for not giving official individual credit but I know you all and am praying for God's grace on your lives for the good you are continually doing. Ps: I wrote my transcript, but it didn't reflect on the forum. I'll re write again. 1 Like |

Hello guys, im sorry for not posting my transcript earlier, I've been sorting out some things and all VISA approved 31st of July 2019. Walter Carrington. Note: I didn't go with my original I-20. Undergraduate degree in Biology. Jackson State University, MS. Vo: Passport and I-20 please Me: passed. Vo: You're going for biology yeah, so why biology? Me: A degree in Biology will ensure I'm on the right path to qualify for a category of health workers in my field that will make a valuable contribution to the Nigerian Health sector, and the courses I will be taking under my program will serve as the root foundation and stepping stone in my career as a health informatics specialist. Vo: Do you have your waec result with you? Me: Yes, passed. Vo: Did you get a scholarship? Me: I applied to 6 schools, 3 gave me scholarship. At this point my mind was two sided. The way he looked at me and started typing, I was doubting my silence and decided to talk more on my I chose JSU. Jackson State university's Biology program is really fine tuned to my course concentration, it is a very affordable institution for International students like myself, and is one of The top 5 universities in the US for producing African Americans with degrees in both physical science and Biological sciences. Vo: But DID JSU GIVE YOU SCHOLARSHIP? Me: No sir ( * omo in my mind I was like chaiiiii) Vo: when did you finish school Me: 2017 Vo: Who is Mr bleep Me: He is my guardian and sponsor who has been ... bleep bleep beeeep. Vo: What does he do? Me: He is the md/CEO of bleep bleep ltd Vo: What does the company deal in Me: (at this point i total blanked out, then i was God oo, pleaseee in my head. I just ooemed my mouth and said what i remembered, cause ahaaan i don prepare fpr this thing naaa) They deal in bjsoodveusnsm. Vo: typed for about 5-10secs. I will be approving your visa... Me: I no hear anything again no capsss tbh. I didn't even know how I got the whitepaper on my palms, then I looked at the exit for about 10secs, my body was very still. In my mind I was like "Jesus Jesus Jesus!!!" I walked out, then met one fine girl like this that I saw while outside. She got her white paper too but she was going to Havard - for a post graduate degree. Omo that conversation was akward in all levels lol. But she's very nice, with fresh accent. Guys!!! I thank God for everything cause I will not lie. It's been God. My series of prayers and hardwork, research etc. Following this trend since part 12 and going back too to download some pages for offline mode. I've been a guest reader. Now I feel it's my time to add. Once again, it was hard work, deligence, faith and most importantly GOD. I can't narrate my pre embassy interview experience on that day right now. But I will still post it here. Note: I was denied a B1 visa in 2016. We were to go and defend our science fair project at the GENIUS OLYMPIAD but we were denied cause we forgot to bring written consent from our parents and hence couldn't meet up with the deadline. I was also denied Canada study permit on the 1st of June 2019 yooo 30 days before my interview. ALSO: I misplaced my white paper, cause I came earlier on a saturday but I went to that other dhl office, that is for sending. So acter filling form, the lady said that ah am I here for my passport? That they domt open on Friday, i should come back on Momday; I guess that was where i threw both the whute paper and the form inside the dustbin. But I made up by carrying along means of identification to dhl solo that monday. 6 Likes 1 Share |

You graduated High School last year and you want to go for a 20 month program in English and American Culture. Why not go to a university and get a conventional degree? If you don't intend to change anything at your next interview then it's fair to say that the VOs won't change anything as well because they may ask you 'What has changed since the last time?' so your chances are the same as having snow in Lagos at christmas. And please don't keep reposting your transcript along with your next comments. DammyNwodo1999: 3 Likes |

Oh congratulations. This is really inspiring to read as I'm going for biology undergraduate too. And from what I read here, I was beginning to loose some hopes... Please is this your second degree? Is your sponsor in USA or Nigeria? I have more questions to ask if you don't mind please... Thanks as I await your response. Blackboydre: |

Thanks a lot @cptcharlesvane for the reviews. Lol @ extended family rendezvous.. Its really not like that at all. I'm not even close to that my cousin ( he was born and raised there, only being to Nigeria thrice).. Should I omit those relative when asked and just claim my aunt/sponsor? Is their a way they will know of my cousin?.. Truth is, its my first applying, I never knew I have to apply to plenty schools, I am the one that approached my aunt and not the other way round. I did cos she schooled in USA and can recommend better so as to narrow my research. She suggested two schools, one has stopped admission application by the time i applied leaving just Salisbury. Will having one school affect my chances??.. These questions from these transcript, I got from online here that's why I'm naming professors lol. Reason for switching careers... Watched my dad die due to incompetency in the hospital.. What I was doing from grad till now... In work at a pharm company.. Also did medicine here for one year in Madonna that year but stopped due to no accreditation (should I mention that?)... Thanks CptCharlesVane: |
Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 15 by CptCharlesVane: 1:43am On Aug 19, 2019 |
The rule is don't say what would put you in a hole. If asked better to be honest and relate it to you aspiration towards the degree in the US. Whether one school would affect your chances, not really as long as you can show clarity why you chose the school. Fill the form and expect questions about the people on the form and practice so that when you're asked you would have what to say. Your situation is unique and can be tailored to why you want to go for the premed. Nothing wrong at all to mention all these if you're asked, because that's the truth about your situation. Just prepare well for the interview and go for it. Monykviv: |

A lot of what you'll see here are opinions, tremendously helpful but aren't any less. You are also free to state yours. In fact, the more opinions the better. Take what you may, use it to prepare for your interview and don't be deterred by the ones that look like dogma. Visa applications are treated on individual basis. Except you feel you will be presenting exactly the same information and documents as Jane Doe that got denied yesterday. martinz1: 1 Like |
