I am still seeing Jan 22nd here even till 4am this morning and i just checked now again.
Friedpotato:
January 11 is open in lagos, you might want to pay another MRV fee. Alternatively keep pressuring them. Tell them you've already booked your flight and you were advised by EduUSA to collect the extension letter.

Personally i feel your answer to why this school was very poor, no vo would issue you a visa because you chose a school mainly cos of its cultural diversity and incentives..
Your ties to Nigeria is weakened by the crop of relations interested in your US education.

Hello Everyone I got denied my visa today in Lagos at 8:30 am. This was the transcript;

V.O: Good morning, where are you traveling to?

Me: Good Morning, I’m traveling to Minnesota, St Cloud State University for my masters in social work program.

V.O: okay, why St. Clouds

Me: I chose St. Clouds for two reasons. Firstly because of the amazing incentives, it offers to international students like cultural and academic scholarship of which I’m a beneficiary of and secondly because of the cultural diversity which is in line with my personal goals.

V.O: Have you ever traveled out of the country?

Me: yes I did to the US

V.O: How long did you stay

Me: 1 month on the first visit and approximately 3 months on the second

V.O: where you working or in school.

Me: I was on a summer vacation

V.O: where did you stay?

Me: Colorado with my aunt and her family who lives there

V.O: Calls the name of my sponsor (my aunt, another aunt with the same surname ) who is she, what she does, and where she stays

Me: I answered (She stays in Minnesota too) then replied that she is my aunt and she’ll be sponsoring me. She asked why not my parents and I explained that my Anty and my dad made a payment plan as he was going to reimburse her after she paid.

V.O: I won’t be issuing you the visa then she hands me a blue slip that says something about not having strong ties.

Please I need help from anyone who can help. This is my first denial on a student visa but my second generally. I already completed my fall semester online and I was hoping to resume by the 17th after an extension had been granted. Please I don’t know what to do right now, I can’t possibly defer my admission and if I reapply I don’t know how soon I can get a closer date. Please is there something I should have said or done better, do I need to change my sponsor I don’t know if that is possible.

Good Day. I was previously denied student visa at Lagos, on Nov6, 2020. As at then I had no graduate assistanship. But I defered to fall 2021 as a result, and I got a graduate assistantship of approx. $25k,leaving behind a deficit of approx. $10k.

This was my visa transcript for November 6,2020.

Vo: Good morning.

Me: Good morning  sir.

Vo: where are you going  to?

Me: the University of Louisiana at Lafayette to pursue my MS in Civil   engineering with a concentration in environmental engineering.

Why this university : I choose this university particularly because of an ongoing research at the university that deals with the production of biogas from the anaerobic degradation of food wastes ... I wanted to continue with what I had to say,but he cut in.

Vo: what other schools did you apply to?

Me : ODU and USC.

Vo: why did you chose this school above ODU.

Me: I choose the University because of its reputability and because the research at the university closely aligns with my research interest.

Vo: what is your research interest?

Me: the production of biogas from the anaerobic degradation of food wastes.

Vo: are you married?

Me: No.

Vo: are you single

Me: yes.

Vo: do you have any children?

Me: no

Vo: are you employed?

Me: No,  but I have worked as a mathematics teacher.

Vo : who is your sponsor?

Me: My mother and 3 of my relatives.

Vo: what does your mother do?

Me : I told.

Vo: I am sorry, I can't approved your visa.

So, now I need a prediction and guidance on how my next interview on February 05,2021 ,could unfold.

Good day everyone. I previously applied for F1/F2 and choose March 8th with the hope that my expedited appointment would be approved , but it was later denied. Now, I want to change it to F2/F2 since my hubby is on GA with tuition waiver and stipend. I filled another DS160 with the new SEVIS no but when I called the embassy, I was told they were unable to change it F2/F2 that it's not a problem. I can tell the VO verbally on the interview day. Pls I want to know if it won't be a problem.
Thanks in anticipation for your responses.

Check your transcripts and the explanations are there. You have paid visit to your Aunt in Colorado and another Aunt in Minnesota is sponsoring you with your father promising to reimburse her. It is assumed that all are just immigration path for you.

Good idea; if asked why the sudden change of sponsor, tell the VO that your Dad's financial status became more stable and he decided to do the funding. Try to create a stronger tie to home by assuring what you will be doing with your degree when you return. If your present place of work can give you a study leave, go with the document.

NB: there is nothing wrong in having a relation in the US sponsor you but your answers to this became complicated. You can still maintain that your aunty agreed to fund your program without unnecessary stories. Narrate how you are related to her and establish that she's capable but try to show that you have plan to utilize the degree at home. There is also nothing wrong in saying that your dad is not of means or indisposed etc at the moment...

Hello fam. I need your advise on my Visa application and interview. I have a scholarship of $15K and deficit of $32K. On my first first DS 160, I filled that there I don't have any relative in the US, used my dad's SOA and was denied(Maybe my dad's SOA wasn't strong enough). I want to try the second time by using my dad's with my cousin's SOA who's in the USA. I need your swift responses on how to get about this and hope this would work out. I would appreciate other suggestions so as to get my Visa. My class starts on the 21st of January. Thank you always.

I don't really understand your question but if you want to choose the 12th that is available, you have to cancel your current emergency appointment then create a new regular appointment and pick the 12th

What's your budget? There are decent hotels around Garki (all Garki areas), Wuse (all Wuses) and nearby areas you can get for less than 15K per night. Used some a few times when I don't wanna drive back home after clubbing or partying. But I remember one guy here recently saying he got a hotel for 5K. Perhaps you can reach out to him and see how he pulled that off.

It’s 03:32am in Minneapolis right now, my body is yet to adjust to the new time difference, I sleep off 7pm
Local time here and wake 2am, but I’m still happy, I’m writing this to encourage whoever dreams to come here, your dreams are valid, I mean I’ve seen people with very low gre score here, I’ve seen people in their 30s doing undergraduate here, lol I had zero funding and I’m here, do not relent, if they deny you at the embassy try again, if you’re denied again, try the third time, it is worth that 65k, here’s the dreamland you see in movies, pls do not give up!
