Hello Good people, Please i need advice oo. I am currently applying for a two year Visa for my Aunty and Uncle in their 70's, both retired. They are planning to visit the UK for 20 days in January. Both have good travel history, my uncle had a 10year UK tourist visa which expired 2years ago, several US Visas and some other countries. Now, i'm just scared about the POF he's submitting. Uncle plans to sponsor wife and his main account statement has a balance of N1.8M in the main account, and a pensions account with less than 200k. A lump sum of 1.3M and 200k respectively were paid to his account as rent last month. (Most of his income comes from Rent and shares). He also provided his CofO for his house located in a highbrow area. Aunty has a pensions account with less than 100k Questions 1. Does he really have to show where the lumpsum came from? He collects rent through an agent. 2.Does aunty need to show personal account statement even though she mentioned her husband will sponsor her. 3. Does his previous history make his application strong enough. Will appreciate a response as there's really no way to provide evidence for that lumpsum. |

Zi: Your occupation skill will determine what steps to take. However, there are some general guidelines to follow: 1. Register with the relevant UK agency/body so as to get a certified/license to practice your occupation within the UK. 2. Start applying for jobs on UK job sites (this depends on your Occupation skill) 3. If you are shortlisted for interview and given the job offer, then your employer applies for COS which you will require in order to apply for UK visa from your home country (I guess Nigeria) Gracias |

Zi: While I don't have much information about engineering occupations as I'm in a different sector, I am sure there are some professional engineering instituitions/agencies. I suggest you find out about Engineering Council in UK (you may google it) . You may kick-start your search from there. This link may as well be helpful. https://www.engc.org.uk/international-activity/access-to-practise-in-the-uk/ I hope certified UK engineers in the house can also be of help. Good luck Boss |

Horlaidey007: Hello, Have you checked the UK shortage occupation list? If the job titles quoted above are on the list, then you stand a very good chance to migrate to the UK on the Tier 2 visa route. However, you may need to apply for jobs in the UK while you also have relevant qualifications/certifications/registration to back up the application. Thanks. |

kolajoo:When did you biometrics? Use the web platform through computer and check if your application has been transferred and received by VAC. There are six stages if you use the web platform to check. See attached below as an example:
