Finally tried the website. Sadly, I found out that I have to pay the fare difference between the itineraries.

Yes except you chose dates that are similar to the amount you paid initially. At least no penalty fees

Sorry to hear about your refusal. I agree with the other opinions but there’s something else that they picked up which you need to address. The recent 2m into your account which the ECO would usually class as inflating your account for aesthetics. You should have regular salary deposits and no large amounts suddenly appearing when it’s time to print your statement (they’ll think this is a deliberate attempt at deception). They also mentioned that the savings account statement with £1k was incomplete. Some accounts may not be flagged for a 2m deposit if the transaction value in the preceding 6 months was high. After all, Debbie’s account had over 80m through but when the 2m is an anomaly, it raises eyebrows. To be on the safe side, restrict it to your salary, ensure you are saving a portion of it within the account each month ( you mentioned your salary is 1.5m, if you spend 1m every month and save 500k; within 6 months you’ll have 3m and won’t need to make any large deposits) and also get an updated letter from your company: not just the august 2020 contract. It’s also important that the 1.5m salary each month is seen on the statement and the amount you claim to spend each month must also tally with the statement. I think you should try again in 6 months after getting your accounts clean and just state one reason for your visit- either family, tourism or your certificate renewal and if you pick the latter, please include proof.

Hi everyone,

I have a question that’s a little off road. Please help! Has anyone successfully applied for a U.S. visa from the UK and sat their interview over there? I mean Nigerians with just a tourist visa. Just wondering if this is permissible and feasible for my husband who wants to renew his U.S. visa due to the long waiting times in Nigeria. The website says they can take applications from all nationals regardless of their status in the UK as long as they’re not illegals but I want to know if this has worked for anyone practically. Thanks for your advice.

Yeah, you can. I don't know if they are processing regular tourist visas now though.

In Nigeria? Unless you have friends at the bank but even at that you will need to fill the forms and send it.

Since you are in the UK is not possible , but you can ask someone you trust like your parents or siblings to help you open one with their name and give you all the details and send you the ATM.

Only if you will take the risk

It is not possible to apply for a Visa for another country (USA included) if you have a visit visa in the country you apply from. Unless your husband have a UK resident permit, Study permit or a long stay visa . Only in few cases where the country you applying to do not have embassy or consulate in your country of residence.

Hi AmeliaT and other experts in the house,
Can one track a UK visitor visa application process with GWF number only?

If yes, where can one get the link please.

Well you can give it a try. But status and nationality mostly doesn't include Visiting Visa. To apply for a Visa your address and many details are required even some will ask you for proof of residency which exclude visitors visa. I am only speaking from experience. I I lived and applied for US visa in different countries including Europe.

I also know that anything is possible with the USA, has they mostly don't care about documents unlike thier European counterparts. So just give it a try

Yes, you can open a dom account while in the UK.

Some Nigeria banks operate in UK like GTB and others. You can walk into their branch in the UK and open the Dom account.

You can also open online but just indicate you are in diaspora and include your location then it will be done for you.

Hi, all you need is the GWF number along with other details which are personal to her.

She has 3 options.
1. Track for free using the link sent via email from noreply@visas-immigration.service.gov.uk. Click on the link there, log in and follow the steps to track.
2. Make a call to for which you will need to have a card on standby for as you need to pay. +44 (0)300 790 6268 - select option 1
Monday to Friday, 24 hours. Calls cost 69 pence per minute on top of your standard network charges
If you cannot contact UK 0300 numbers, use +44 (0)203 875 4669.
3. Send a paid email using this link- https://ukvi.mysecurepay.co.uk/Home
Queries cost £2.74. You will not be charged for any follow-up emails about the same enquiry. You will get a reply to your query within 5 days, except on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and UK public holidays.

Your friend should also be weary of agents. There are so many sad stories here about agents manipulating bank records, using fake credit cards to pay and the applicant being refused and banned. If one must use an agent, it is important to audit and see the final form and all documents before submission to ensure there's no funny business.

Yes, as a student in the UK, family members visited and we took a trip to the US. They applied for their US visa from the UK (Belfast) while on a tourist visa.

I wonder why the VO didnt see that she couldn't have stated she was married when the marriage took place after the application, if she stated she was married won't it be that she is lying. Sometimes ehhh, I wonder how these VOs loook at individual cases.

winall:
fellow nairalanders especially @tutu @giselle237 just a quick question.

my spouse applied to the Uk for masters febuary 2,2021 and she is presently in the Uk studying.
I on the other hand applied to join her in october and was refused owing to the fact that the application was made days prior to our marriage. she applied as single on the 2nd of febuary and we got married on the 18th of Febuary.

I am attaching the quoted response below: >>>

As evidence of your relationship you have submitted a marriage certificate dated 19
February 2021, as well as a number of photographs, however you have not provided any
other evidence of your relationship. The fact you have demonstrated your marriage took
place, does not act as independent corroboration you are in a subsisting relationship and the
evidence you have provided is insufficient. It is also noted that in your claimed spouse’s visa
application of 02 February 2021, she stated her relationship status was “single”.
Given the above, I am not satisfied that your relationship is subsisting, that you intend to live
with your sponsor throughout their stay in the UK, or that you do not intend to stay in the UK
beyond any period of leave granted to your sponsor. I therefore refuse your application
under paragraphs ST32.4, ST32.5 and ST32.6 of the immigration rules.

I am however confused on the next step.

should i go for an administrative review or begin a new application with additional information/proof like call logs, chats backups and parents letter of knowlegde of the relationship.

kindly help advise.

Good info here.

Please advise needed from anyone in the house. If there is any experience, please share.

Please does this mean you can apply to the US Embassy in London or Belfast to get an appointment date and travel to the UK around that time for the interview?

Also, does this mean you can also apply through the drop box in the UK with a Visitor Visa.

Please, do you also have an idea if you can apply for a US visa in any part of Schengen states with a Schehgen visa?

Note: The UK visa is 10 years, and Schengen is 2 years and both are still valid.

Please note: Address and every other documentations are not an issue.

Yes it is but make sure your application doesn't claim you want to go there for 3 months or anything that may sound sinister. 2 weeks is ideal.
