The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) have blamed Christians for continued persecution of Christians in Nigeria.

CAN President, Samson Olasupo Ayokunle lamented that Christians do not have the boldness like Esther to fight for their faith, hence the reason for their continued persecution in Nigeria.

According to him, “Most ‘Christians’ in politics places political advantages above the spiritual and that have contributed to the continued persecution of the church in Nigeria.”

Ayokunle also lamented Churches inability to get Certificate of Occupancy (CofO) in some parts of the north, which according to him is against the constitution of Nigeria.

He said this at a breakfast meeting with the Christian Press Association of Nigeria (CPAN) with the theme ‘Christian response to global persecution’ in Lagos.

He added that the spate of kidnapping, banditry and other civil unrest will stop if the current administration reduced unemployment, among the teeming young population in Nigeria, stating an idle person is a willing tool for the Devil.

Ayokunle also berated the lack of unity among Christians to speak and pursue a common objective.

“The Church is so rich but cannot put resources together for a single purpose,” he said.

U gat a point sir,

The Church is persecuted daily cos greed, pride and worldliness have topped their goal instead of the faith.

Secondly, practice of extreme wickedness that Islam represents does not have a place in Christianity so that when a Christian become president today, the gut to impose divisive rules on non xtians won't arise.

I could remember when Boko boys invade my town 2013, over 200 churches where set ablaze, the entire city was taken over by dis guys for good 9months, 7police station and a Barack was set ablaze, we manage to run to mandara mountain.

Within dis 9months, no Christian home was left standing,

it was so pathetic, women and children trek over 250 km, no food, no water, many children lost their life. what have we done to deserve dis, I ask myself then.
This story does no worth remembering.
