Was at the eagle square, the explosion inside was just some 3 meters away from me, before I could shout G-E-J, I saw a Mopol and one lady on the ground bleeding from the wound of the gun shot, come and see stampede!

One woman was pushed down during the course of the commotion if not for my intervention on time, she should have been matched to death, i lifted her to her feet.

I witnessed the barbaric Nigeria police pouring wet paint on spectators, those guys were like nollywood ghost after the painting.

One chick was busy rubbing her bobbi on my back, I thought the chick dugg my style until one guy shout that I should watch my back, when I turn to look at the backpack I was carrying, I discovered that the chick is half way on picking my digital camera. Smart bi.tch.bribing me behind with her bobby.

It was later I discovered that people were killed in a bomb blast!

For me, had a full day.

In the morning, was with a gathering my church members; we gathered to pray for Nigeria.

In the afternoon, had a picnic with a group of other youths @ the millennium park, then in d evening, had a leaders' meeting with my Pastor to prepare for the last quarter of d year.

Lovely, interesting & busy day.

Was fun over here in Malaysia, went to Nigerian Consulate and behold, it was really a "50 Years Celebration". Dignitary from other embassies were invited and it was filled with Nigerian, locals n foreigners who came to mark the day with us. I guess GEJ had sent the embassy 50 Million Naira for the celebration. Lot to eat n take RSVP lol. Was a nice celebration and moreso 9ice, Derele and Nigga Raw where in Malaysia for independence show, so they also came to grace up the day.

Re: How Did You Celebrate Your Independence Day? by lagerwhenindoubt(m): 4:21pm On Oct 04, 2010
I was in deep prayers and meditation that at some point in the celebration, God will personally touch the hearts of our leaders in the midst of the celebration. I had little clue that the Devil was already on ground to participate fully in the celebrations. Alas! our generations will not see a Great Nigeria for at least another 50 years.

no light, no water, so i spent the day sleeping only to put on my gene later to hear there was bomb blast, at first i tot it blasted aso rock i was happy only to hear it blasted poor struggling nigerians like me, may their soul rest in peace!
Re: How Did You Celebrate Your Independence Day? by thiscounts(m): 4:58pm On Oct 04, 2010
I was at home to mark the celebration with an un-interrupted 24hour power supply and with some empty buckets to fetch pipe born water because I believed their would be a deliberate effort by the Federal Government to use the day as a newn dawn that would restore hope to us all by marking the day with provision of basic amenity for the whole nation but the last hope was finally dashed in me when I was only provided with an un-interrupted 24 hour darkness supply and some fetchers to treck to streams for some water to drink.

And above all the news of bomb blast around the  eagles square close to ASO ROCK! reels me to the ground!
Over the last years it was assassinations by Millitary coupe plotters but what this bomb signalls of tomorrow is possible assassination of, by Millitants.

They've gone smarter and prepared far beyond our security they could if they had wanted!

I think Niaja would have been better off under british than what we are seeing now.  If it turns out worst we will have them to blame
