Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, has received the committee report of the takeover of Bethel College of Education, Ijare by the Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko.

Speaking at the ceremony, the governor said the development would help address the agitation for government owned tertiary institution in Ijare and its environs.

Arakunrin Akeredolu who called for a special training centre at making teachers' education more impactful on teaching and learning processes, said its curriculum should be more pragmatic and result oriented to accommodate positive behavioural learning outcomes that would evaluate the competence of teachers in training before their graduation.

The governor equally advised that courses like Child and Learning Psychology and Practical Teaching should be made intense to address the current needs of learners and the society.

Arakunrin Akeredolu used the occasion to assure of his administration determination to continue to support all efforts at revamping and improving the standard of education in the state.

He appreciated the Proprietor of the College, General Joshua Omosebi who the governor described as a revered leader for having the interest of his people and community at heart in all his philanthropic gestures.

He therefore enjoined the authority of AAUA to expedite actions on the take-over process by putting the place to good use starting from the next academic session of the university.
