Real Madrid Paid Nothing To Sign Takefusa Kubo After His Contract Expired On Jun by jutaji: 10:19am On Jun 15, 2019
Real Madrid were the quickest to sign Takefusa Kubo on a free after his contract with FC Tokyo expired on June 1.Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain were also interested but neither club realised that his contract with the Japanese club had ended. They thought his deal with Tokyo ran until January 31, 2020, like it says on Transfermarkt. This allowed Los Blancos to jump the queue and speak to the former La Masia product directly without having to negotiate with his club.Kubo has signed a five-year deal with the 13-time European champions worth 1.2 million euros a year after tax, and next season he will play for Castilla.
