Why the two?
If you are treating your maize against army worm, apply Caterpillar force mildly and you are good to go.You can apply anytime you notice the infestation

Do you mean i should only make use of Catterpillar force? I actually want to do a pre process in other not to have to deal with armyworms later. How many weeks should I wait after plantng before applying caterpillar force?

Please i planted my maize recently and I am lucky it raining here a bit. I am hoping to dry sell. Pls my problem is one how best do u advise i go about it to maximize my profits? A comrades said one can derived a huge profit if one go about it the right way, which is the right way? cus this is my first time dry selling. How do you all make profit from fresh selling is it per sack? 50kg or pieces? Pls i need your advice. 09097524169.

The size and location of your farm may help shelding more light.
If u are producing in large scale, say above 2 acre, it's better to dry(using dryer since ur harvest wl fall in the midst of raining season), shell and bag(100kg) for sale.
For a smaller farm, u can just harvest dry, bag unshelled and move them to ur local markets for sale, U need to locate those that buy. Not all markets buy unshelled maize, dry corn harvested during raining season are not good for storage. To avoid the stress and cost that go with using a drying machine, plant late maize by Aug/early Sept. If you are doing mono cropping, you can still plant late maize on that same land.

Hello, I planted maize on 2/ha, on April 21, and apply paraquat+ atrazine which work well, sadly Iost the maize farm due to a long break in rainfall. Now I've ploughed, and planning to repeat planting soon. Do I need to apply pre emergency herbicides again? Because some of the maize that fail to germinate during the rain break are coming up, now that rain has commenced, and don't want to lose them. Please kindly advise me.

Yes, use the pre-emergence herbicide again. Replant as you intend to. Don't count on the new maize sprouting as they may not do very well commercially. Regards.

My thought also. Road side sellers/hawkers here are selling @N50 per one, they will still buy charcoal/firewood for processing it. I wonder how those that will retail from her will make profit except they retail @N100.

Advantages of Mechanized farming
1) Saves time
2) Saves energy
3) More efficient
5) Saves cost
6) High density maize cultivation is very achievable

Disadvantages
1) Weeds tend to grow back faster
2) Some people claims that it destroys the soil structure
3) Intercropping maize and cassava without heaps is to me a waste of space. The maize is planted on a row and the cassava follows on the next row. With Intercropping using mechanized farming, one might not be able to achieve a high density maize plantation

These are my observations though. Feel free to share your experiences, observations etc

I meant yellow and i saw the yellow variant,i sell my maize fresh and bugger cobs means bigger money
