What Is The Root Cause Of Nigeria's Problems by DejiYesufu(m): 5:26pm On Oct 04, 2010 |
Nigeria is 50 and still held down by much problems. Is it possible that if we find its root cause we may be able to find solution to its problem? Well, these are my own suggestions. I think the moment the British government refused to entrust the running of the nation to the Nigerian people, the crack had began to appear. History tells us that the British would not give the running of the govt. to the west(led by Awo) or east(led by Zik) because they were enlightened and had been at the forefront of the crusade for an independent nation. They would rather give it to the Northerners who were naive and 'controllable'. The 1959 elections was said to have been rigged in favor of the north and the rest is history. And so today elections are always rigged. I proffer two solutions: 1. The Human responsibility: Let every one get out and register, vote and ensure their votes count. 2. The Divine responsibility: Lets call upon God and plead for a better Nigeria. Long live Federal Republic of Nigeria! |

DejiYesufu: 1 remains the major reason for the problems. As long as we continue to deny responsibility for this, we are likely to see the same continue. |
