This will continue if there is no amendment or any court case to stop it.

He is not the first and definitely won't be the last if something is not done about it.

But sacking a duly elected chairman is an illegality and a gross abuse of office!
You don't dabble into what you know nothing about; There was nothing like LG election in Oyo State, as no other party except for Ajimobi faction's of APC participated in the said election. You can search for news on it, nobody came out to cast vote in virtually all the council areas in the state on the day of the supposed poll. It may also interest you to note that the sham voting exercise was concluded between 30-60 minutes in most of the polling units across the State. Now, if the then Governor could ignore "calls" to halt the conduct of the charade cum election, what stops the current one from righting the wrong? (The Governor had previously attempted to conduct the election, where as a matter of fact, candidates from opposition parties obtained nomination forms from OYSIEC-electoral commission of the State, to vie for elective positions, but to the chagrin of all, they were schemed out when the kangaroo election was to be conducted eventually and the nomination fees paid were not refunded). No wonder the sacked "caretaker" council Chairmen hurriedly went on a preemptive drive to obtain frivolous court injunction restraining a yet to be inaugurated government from removing them from office. Let us wait & see, as events unfold in respect of the matter. But I know something for sure; they are jokers.

It baffles me when a governor just wakes up one morning and sacks all local government chairmen in a democratic setting!
i see why those Biafra people call Nigeria a zoo...

Were they elected or appointed? You need to answer that question before you critisize. Get that straight

Thanks for using the word "duly" ,they weren't duly elected. They were selected.
Selection and election differ

Because you are ignorant of the case and also an animal in the zoo.
If a governor can appoint local government caretakers, what stops another governor from dissolving it.
Your comment is why half education is dangerous.

None were elected. They were appointed by the former governor.

I agree with you on this, but the sacking of Oyo state local government chairmen is an exemption to illegality and abuse of office. The election that brought the chairmen to power was an illegality on its own. There was a court order that stopped the conduct of the poll last year, but instead of vacating the order at the appellate court, they went to a court of parallel jurisdiction.
