Rodri has told Atletico Madrid he wishes to leave the club this summer but Bayern Munich may beat Manchester City to a deal, report Diario AS.


It is said that both clubs are in a position to pay his €70m release clause and the central midfielder has not yet chosen his next destination.
A report in Marca earlier this week claimed that City were the player’s preferred option after news emerged that he would definitely be leaving the Wanda Metropolitano.
Rodri has been widely tipped to be the successor of Barcelona midfielder Sergio Busquets for the Spanish national team and City boss Pep Guardiola is said to see him in this mould.
Last month, a report in Diario AS claimed Rodri ‘is closer to playing in Manchester than Madrid next season’ with a deal appearing increasingly likely but Atleti are keen to clarify his future as soon as possible.
