Like them or hate them, Ghana is the most talented African nation when it comes to football. Administrative, managerial and organizational deficiencies have however hampered the country's progress in global football but even in spite of this, the giants of African football have made some giant strides over the years. Ghana won their fourth AFCON in 1982, at a time when the Ivory Coast had none, Cameroun had one , Nigeria had one and even Egypt had just two. After 1982, Ghana has gone ahead to make three more grand finals , that but for hard luck, Ghana could be boasting of 7 AFCON trophies now just like Egypt. For those who do not know, Ghana was in the AFCON final in 1992 where they lost on penalties to the Ivory Coast, again in the finals in 2010 where they lost narrowly to Egypt and again in 2015 against the Ivory Coast where they threw a two goal lead to lose yet another AFCON final to hard luck. For those who don't know, Ghana was the first African team to win a medal in soccer, in the Olympics in 1992, before Nigeria and Cameroon eventually won gold. Ghana is the only African country to have won the coveted the under 20 world cup in 2009. Ghana is amongst two other African teams (Cameroon and Senegal) to have reached the quarter finals of the FIFA world cup. This Ghana cannot be underrated. Ghana has produced several soccer greats including, Wilberforce Mfum, Abdul Razak, Osei Kofi, Kofi Badu, Abedi Pele, Tony Yeboah, Nii Lamptey, Sammy Kuffuor, Michael Essien, Sulley Muntari etc and the list goes on. Ghana has even produced players for world soccer giants like Germany ( Gerome Boateng, Gerald Asamoah , David Odonkor etc) England ( Danny Welbeck, Callum Hudson Oddoi etc), France (Marcel Desailly) Italy (Mario Ballotelli ) and the list goes on. Against this little backdrop, I present to you, 20 reasons why Ghana will win this years AFCON title. |

1. Since 2008, Ghana is always in the semi finals 2. Ghana impresses when they are underrated 3. Ghana knows how to play the AFCON haven won it four times already 4. There are no injury worries this time 5. The last time Egypt hosted a major football competition in 2009 , Ghana won it. |

11. Ghana has a coach that has played in the world and managed to draw with eventual winners Germany , that defeated Brazil 7-1 in that same tournament 12. What do you mean you have a better than Ghana? When was the last time your team played Ghana? And when was the last time your super eagles beat Black Stars? You Nigerians talk like you are God.
