The Etim Edem Park area of Calabar metropolis was today thrown into a sad atmosphere ,

When men of the state department of public transport popularly known as DOPT went about ceasing goods belonging to

road side hawkers around the area. This area is a busy route fact been that it is close to

the popular Wat market and other commercial banks located around it.

A young man whose wares were ceased followed behind the vehicle in which his ceased goods were kept and

begged for his good to be released to him. The driver packed at another point to pick other goods from other hawker

who were hurrying to pack their goods to avoid their goods from been ceased.

The young man Whose name is not known went in front of the packed vehicle to plead that his good should not gone away with.

The driver, encouraged by his other colleagues hit the young man with the vehicle killing him at the spot. The men of the DOPT fled off.

The young man according to an eye witness is said to be in his early thirties and is believed to be a bread winner of his family.

one is left to wonder the rationale behind the way this man was murdered in this manner without fare hearing even while doing his legit

hustle. The young man's lifeless body was taken to the cross river state governors office by his relations with hope the doers of these evil will be brought to book.
