Our client is one of the best brand review & management company in Nigeria. They are well-funded, venture capital-backed product writing & review business. This company has been featured in popular journals in Nigeria and abroad. Including the Punch, Guardian, Daily Trust, Nigerian Tribune and many others. They now have a new opening for their extension; Online TV venture and needs TV Production Supervisor in Lagos.

Job Title: TV Production Supervisor


The Role:

This job is considered to be a hands-on Supervisory position in which an individual is expected to act as the Production Manager, as well as acting as a technical troubleshooter. The primary responsibilities of the Production Supervisor include directing job assignments and providing technical hands-on leadership to the production staff. He will also serve as a substantial head of the production crew, with strong knowledge of online & traditional TV production & commercialization.

Responsibilities:
• Plan and execute the production schedule, providing supervision and direction to Production crew and other operators. Allocate resources to ensure minimum downtime and completion of scheduled activities. Prioritize and manage workload to ensure assignments address the objectives of the company, department and customers.
• Conduct safety and orientation training with new employees.
• Oversee and maintain safety practices in accordance with safe operations and in compliance with company policies.
• Supervise and assist in the training of production processes. Provide training, guidance and coaching to employees in a consistent and constructive manner. Communicate shift activity to personnel and keep them informed of the changes to equipment, processes and materials/supplies.
• Monitor the efficiency and quality of all production jobs. Review goals daily and identify root cause if the goal was not obtained, report findings.
• Assist in running and troubleshooting production jobs.
• Work closely with peers to develop good team working relationship and cross-shift team relationships.
• Review video production records for completeness and accuracy.
• Give periodic & accurate advice to the management on ways to improve the production & marketing strategies for the TV business as at when needed.
• Manage the process of linear and non-linear production, to align with what is being seen on top 10 TV stations across Nigeria
• Vet all video production and be sure it meets standard before publishing online or on-air broadcast
• Conduct performance appraisals and communicate information to senior management.
• Manage employee conduct or performance problems in a manner consistent with the company’s policies.
Refer to Human Resources for advice and consultation as needed.

Required Education Level & Personal skills:
Must be able to communicate effectively to both management and staff clearly and informatively.
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with computer operations and programs such as Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, graphics package or other data tracking systems and very conversant with major editing software.
• Strong decision-making and troubleshooting skills and methods are essential.
• Ability to work independently and creatively.
• Functional experience of 4 - 5 years or more or equivalent in a TV or production studio.
• Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience, which must include technical knowledge
• Ability to independently handle all studio equipment.
• Very Intelligent, must be ready for tough criticisms (An A-Level Personnel)
• B.Sc. or HND Holder in Mass media or social science, (candidate with great experience & with higher qualification will be an added advantage)
