Refunds are not affected. Your bank will credit you appropriately, even at the prevailing higher exchange rate, as long as AE arbitrates in your favour.

This happened in my case but the refund was sent to a different card detail, not mine. What am I to do now?

I used first Bank recently. I don't really know if they have stopped it. Look for people with domiciliary account that can help you.

I'm confused, did you link more than 1 card to your aliexpress account?

Is the zenith cap per transaction, per day or per month?

I believe it should be monthly cap.

The refund was sent to the card that you used in paying. That is the problem with using 3rd party pay agents to pay for you on AE. When deals go south and a request for refund is arbitrated in your favour, the money will be returned to the card used in the payment.

When such happens, just hope the pay agent is God's angel to admit a refund was made into his account and give you your money, else na OYO voice mail.

First and most important thing to bear in mind is the fact that you might have to wait for two months + to get the phone. If you're prepared for that. Then I would advice you not to order from anyhow store you see. Look at the sellers ratings, for me 4.5 and below is bad. Look at how many years the store has been open. 4+ years is good. Read reviews of people that have bought the product. If there are no reviews, open the store and check reviews on other products. That would give you an idea of how reliable the seller is. I would also recommend you check another store that has reviews on that particular product.
When you've done all this research which and you are comfortable. Don't buy yet. Contact the seller and see how long he takes to reply your initial message. Ask him how long it would take him to ship it (NOTE once again what I said in the beginning). After checking all these I suggest using a zenith bank card to make the purchase. I also suggest using AliExpress standard shipping because that way you can know where your package is, and you have a greater chance of getting a refund of your money if the phone doesn't come.

When (or sometimes IF) the package arrives Nigeria it goes to NIPOST office in lagos before its then sent to the post office closest to your address you filled in AliExpress.
Once again REMEMBER its POSSIBLE in this covid period that your phone would take up to 2 months to come.
If you're lucky you would get it in less than that.
Cheers

See ehn lemme tell you, truth be told, your package is not even close to Africa yet talk less of Nigeria. your package just left China 3 days ago, so you still have like two weeks or more for your package to arrive in Nigeria, despatched to overseas is the same as despatched to destination country which is also the same as send item abroad. So chillax bro

they are basically the same thing, meaning your parcel is in transit to your country. The difference is when you see arrived at destination country.

You're welcome. I wish I could tell you that there's no need to be afraid. But with the current situation I can't. It's not the problem of being "cheated" it's just that there are too many uncertainties right now. When all these clears up (effects of the corona virus) then it would be a more peaceful experience buying from AliExpress.
