Doctors in this forum I need answers to the questions below
1. Would a child resemble surrogate mother?
2.Would he/she share her DNA?
3. Who donates the sperm?
4. How fee do these women charge?

1. Resemblance is basically about the genes. So as long as the surrogate mother doesn't donate the eggs for fertilization, the baby can never resemble her in any form.

2. No, the baby can't share her DNA.

3. This depends on a few factors. If a man and woman hire the surrogate mother, the man will donate the sperm. So biologically the baby is his. Nevertheless, there are a few cases where the man's sperm are not viable, then someone else's sperm may be used.

4. I don't know anything about the payment structure.

I hope children don't take after surrogate mothers.

Whatever the case, if i were to do, i wouldn't let someone looking like any of these carry my kids.

A clean fit Latina will be OK. I wouldn't want my kids looking like Okro soup after delivery.

The surrogate mothers only provide the environment for the baby to develop. They don't influence the baby's DNA in any way. We can wait for the doctors to confirm it but I saw this somewhere.

let me explain to u.
If one's wife cant carry a baby for 9 months (eg numerous miscarriages), they can opt for option of surrogacy.
Doctors extract the father's sperm and d wife's egg and inject in a tube, take the developed eggs and then put in the surrogate mum's womb, who will then then carry the unborn child for 9 months.
Once the child is born, they will be transferred to the original parents in the hospital.
The surrogate mum doesn't even see the child or know the original parents. Just get paid and go.
A friend did it and told me. Shed tears for them. And happy for them. They have a very handsome boy now.

If you did your research, you would have known that kids born through surrogacy only carry the DNA of their parents.

Surrogate mothers are only containers.

In a bid to make front page, a lot of people just put wrong info on front page.

Not a doctor but from research in the past
1.Would a child resemble surrogate mother? No because it is not her egg shes's just carrying fertilized from and sperm of another couple think of it like this you plant a bean seed in a peak can after springing up you transplant it to the backyard for more space some women can not carry baby to term due to medical conditions among others
2.Would he/she share her DNA? No because of same reason above
3. Who donates the sperm? The couple donates fertilized egg "embryo" and she carries it to term
4. How fee do these women charge? Depend and vary but always involve a lawyer to get a binding legal agreement.

Doctors in this forum I need answers to the questions below
1. Would a child resemble surrogate mother?

It depends on what type of surrogacy it is.... A) surrogate mother had sex with husband, B) surrogate mother get already fertilized egg/ embryo implanted into her womb or C) surrogate mother has child of her own (with whomever) then hand the child to expecting parents.

2.Would he/she share her DNA?

If the surrogate is the above example A) then child has surrogate mother and father's DNA, if above example B) then DNA of the woman and man whose fertilized egg/embryo was implanted. The surrogate mother is just a carrier and does not share blood etc with child.

3. Who donates the sperm?

Biological Father if possible, if not a stranger's sperm from sperm bank

4. How fee do these women charge?

From nothing to whatever they desire... It's all down to both the surrogate mother AND expecting parents to come to a mutual agreement

A couple who for whatever medical reasons cant have their own kid together, will use the services of a Sorrugate.

Basically, a doctor will take semen from the husband and eggs from the wife, fertilise it and implant it into the sorrugate who will carry the baby to term, deliver it and hand it back to the couple.

Surrogacy = Womb for Hire.

They are doing a heavenly work
May God help and Keep them and also give them strength to continue in this journey. Amen
E no easy to carry Belle for pesin

After Celebrity Kim Kardarshian West had her second child, she had to opt for surrogacy for her third and fourth children. This was due to this fertility issues she faced during her first two pregnancies.

Nigeria needs to wake up to accept this because it has given hope to couples battling fertility issues. All that is needed is the couples sperm and egg.

Also Single women who don't want marriage can opt for surrogacy.
Nigerian men who don't want marriage have opted for this already in our Naija style called "Baby Mama"
In America, they do this everyday.

I'm life, there is always a way out. When there is life, there is hope.
Lastly, just hold enough money before opting for surrogacy.

fertilized egg/embryo treatment isnt cheap, some simply have sex with surrogate mother on her ovulating day OR do sperm transfer (cuum and put sperm in surrogate coochie with syringe/condo)

Having sex with the surrogacy mother will automatically make her the biological mother of the kids she'd give birth to. The man is the sperm donor, while the woman is the egg producer. So how does this help the biological parents(mum&dad) who are seeking for a surrogacy to birth their offspring

I am not a doctor but I have explored the possibility of having children via surrogate
To answer your questions (1)No. The child would take up the genes of the egg and sperm eg Linda ikeji's son was born via surrogate and looks like Linda
2) No , as in 1
3)the intending father donates or from sperm bank if the man lacks sperm eg in azoospermia
4)the entire procedure includes IVF, surrogacy fees, ante and delivery care and will set you back by at least 3m. Check meetsurrogates on IG to get a quote

My wife has a rare and chronic disease called pulmonary Hypertension, and for that reason she has been advise not to get pregnant by doctors as pregnancy with the illness is almost suicidal. We hope to conceive now through surrogacy.

No.

But if they can afford a surrogate, then they can afford the medical process of fertilizing the female's eggs with the male's sperm, then screening samples for SS and eliminating them, then implanting the needed and safe samples into the mother or the surrogate.

Next time, google is ur friend...

Basically, women that have womb challenges or don’t have womb at all, or women that just don’t want to go tru the pains or body changing process that comes with pregnancy like celebrities abroad that don’t like to put their career on hold can employ someone to carry their own fertilized egg....
The carrier I.e the surrogate is genetically Not the mother, because are eggs aren’t used. The couple will fertilize the egg externally in the lab.. and after success .. it is implanted into the surrogate..
However in some cases, surrogates also donate eggs and act as carriers..that’s if the client isn’t fertile at all.
lawyers are involved so she can’t change her mind that because she carried the baby, she now wants to be the mother...iron-clad agreement would be signed...no looking back
