i guess they haven't heard of hypothermia.
It's called cryotherapy.
A normal routine for elite athletes. Some clubs have an ice chamber that is hermetically sealed for players to use. The temperature is reduced to as low as possible.
It's a super aid to recovery.

Ice bath is often recommended to help restore minor muscle tear not cause the lads qualified hnmmn

Swimming in ice cold water helps increase blood circulation, soothes body psins and reduces inflammation. I do it twice a year.

There are reasons some may not know:

1. Not everyone is into sports/fitness regiment. Nigerians only exercise when they want to loosen weight.
2. People don't read again. Too lazy or busy chasing the fleeting desires of life.

It's true, many top athletes use cryotherapy as part of their post-intervention routine. This therapy seems to have a lot of positive effects on the body.
