......Dzer James Terna emerges the overall corps member.


The Coordinator of National Youth Service Corps in Gombe state Mr David Pwanidi Markson, in his address to 2018 Batch 'B'Stream 1 Corps members on their passing out admonished them to start small by establishing businesses and putting to use the skills learned. The speech states partly "I congratulate Batch B stream 1 corps members on a successful service year and we appreciate your contributions especially those who distinguished themselves in community development service. "More thanks to those of you that helped in the conduct of 2019 general elections, your efforts contributed to the free and fair election in Gombe state.

"I call on you to start small by establishing businesses and put to use the skills learned through the Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development Programme. Nothing learned during the service year is a waste of time. "Keep the ideals of the NYSC alive as life Ambassadors of the scheme".



The low key but significant passing out ceremony provided ample opportunity for corps who had distinguished themselves to be honoured with both 7 state honours award and 5 commendation to be presented to deserving corps members amongst whom are Ngede Abigail GM / 18B/ 0732 emerged the overall best female in Community Development Service and Dzer James Terna, Servicom , Financial inclusion CDS, who was decorated as the most outstanding Corps member 2018 Batch B stream 1 a graduate of Benue state university second class upper English. He said " This is not new to me, it is infact my third award. "However, I'm overwhelmed at the entire gesture but how I wish my father was alive to see this greatness the lord had bestowed me. "My desire of serving in Gombe state was to help my community. "It was last year November my project was approved and I began my search for resources. "It was until this year march I began to execute my projects, I executed 11 projects, the biggest one was the renovation of Government day secondary school in Tumfure, it cost N90,000. "I got this through the funds I solicited. "My target is to become a lecturer". My advise to serving corps members is for them to embrace a project even if it is a collective one" he added.
