Gabriel walk to where he kept his phone,He
picked it and dial the number Of Holy Israel
Group of school principal" I need all the
names of student that participate in this year WAEC and their result" the king said." I will
text it to you" the principal replied .The king
went to the town hall after he received the
list
through a text message.Everybody gather
patiently to wait for what bring the king to the town hall.
"I came here to announce the names of
people that pass their WAEC in this village"
the king said ."Let him say the result ,let us
here" a
villager said ."This are the names of people that pass their WAEC. "The king said ,he
called from 1-30 and my name has not been
mention. I was no longer interested to listen
anymore because my soul was feel with
grief and disappointment ,tears began to roll
down from my eyes profusely .So all my effort,my time I use to study is invain .I was
on my way home before I heared my name
mentioned.Immediately I heard my name,
joy came into me after my name was
mention and defeated the grief and
disappointment in me,my tears was now turned to
tears of joy and not sorrow.I walk
majestically like a princess on a
carriage."Dad the WAEC result was read out
by the King at the town hall and my name
was among the lucky students that pass the WAEC" I said with joy all over my face,my
dad cuddled me and my mum embrace me
,followed by my sibling.We were all happy
once again,singing song and glorifying God
."wait" my dad interrupted ."What's it?" I
asked. "Was Joy name mention?" my dad asked impatiently .There was total calmness
as they were all eager to know whether she
pass or fail ."Her name was not mention" I
broke the long
waiting silence". "what!"my parents
exclaimed. "So she didn't even pass,now, I have known,after deceiving her parents and
making them to waste a lot of money to
throw a luxurious party as if she pass" my
dad said. "Her parents will really be
disappointed" my mom said ."She has
humiliated her self " I said. "This is not just a disgrace to her parents but to the entire
family as a whole even though they hated
us" my dad said ,feeling pity for her ."This is
as a result of how her mum and dad has been
cossetting her" my mum said. "Maybe they
will learn from this if they are wise" I said while we all laught.
While at my uncle's house, there was total
disappointment and frustration ."Joy you
really disappointed me " her dad said with
fury. "Calm down my love" mrs Seikeme
said. "I can't calm down,you are the one making her not to be serious with her
studies" Joy's dad said ."Let's forget about it"
Joy's mum said. "How can I just forget about
it when you
people make me to spend a lot of money to
throw a party on a false result!" Joy's dad exclaimed ."What will
others think about us" he added.
"She is still our daughter,you need to forgive
her" her mum said . "I have forgiven her
already but next time she should not lie to
me" he said and went to his room . "Even though I plead on behalf of you,am not happy
with what you did" her mum said and joined
her husband in the room .
Is morning, today is Cynthia's marriage and
dad is not around .The marriage has kick off
and dad is not still back.The marriage was more than what we expected .Since my dad
was not around and we have try to reach
him through his contact but to no avail, we
have no choice than to represented him with
his younger brother Seikeme,Joy's dad. It
was time for my sister to present the dowry but there
was no dowry. "What are we going to do" I
asked my mum. "Let's leave it for Seikeme to
handle since he is representing the head of
the family,he may know what to do" my
mum said. "My inlaws, since we cannot present the dowry,let the wedding should be
call off " my wicked uncle said .This is his
opportunity to ruin my elder sister's
marriage and
finally he has succeed .The groom's father
