No hotel security personnel that knows the implications, will harass visitors- unless you showed evidence that you are a threat to security of the environment or the business or you painted the place as a local brothel by your manners outside the building.

Now you may be outside the building but in their sphere of influence (according to their land marks and by here I don't mean the fence). Security concerns will equally apply there.

You don't carry the flow of 1star or 2star hotels to 3star and above hotels. You will be met with brute force. It's security policy for most big time hotels.

If they were not shouting, the security man wouldn't have come to tell them that they were shouting. And replying him that if not for them they wouldn't pay their salary was a very rude statement. For me they deserve more than that to talk to the security men that way.
