[b]I just read this morning that Arewa is seeking President Jonathan's impeachment in court because of the statement he made after the notorious bombblast in Abuja. Yesterday the Northern Leaders Forum, NFL called on him to resign or be impeached for the same cause.

I have thought through the issue. I don't blame these factions for sharing their own views on his 'uninformed' statement; like someone said, "it was too early to make the proclaimations he did without due investigations". However, it is difficult to see sense in both the call for his impeachement and resignation.

It is easier to understand the President's position if we can imagine a scenero of a birthday celebrant who just heard some of his folks were killed on their way to celebrate with him. Jonathan must definately had been unstable both mentally and emotionally after those rogues crash his party - our party.

Beside, it is easier for him to believe that MEND was not responsible because he couldnt believe they still had greivances that big enough after the Amnesty-induced drop of arms. His expectations were confirmed by two Generals of the Tompolo force on AIT this week. They said MEND was not having any issues with the government and that they believed in the amnesty programme of 'baba yar'adua".

But that aside, the president has apologised for his mistakes. He is not a perfect leader and I am sure Nigerians dont need one. Why the dust about his resignation and impeachment. One of the group said they couldnt "trust their safety on a leader that was partial and unfair" in his security programme.

Then it is also difficult to understand how you can seek a President's impeachment in a court of law. If our Reps and the people of this great country are fed up with the president, there is the right way to let him go - We can simply wait till 2011 and refuse to vote him.

The shock was too much on our able Goodluck President, but thanks to God who gave him the wisdom to remind to us the possibility of the Bomb Blast in Abuja being a responsibility of our 9ja Kidnapers, which only multitude of job opportunities can salvage. Quote alongside with me for genuine GOOD PEOPLE - GREAT NATION.

The call for his impeachment is unnecessary but actions like this will help him to think before speaking out on certain issues especially those that bother on national security. Honestly his statement less than 24 hours after the incidence was very uncalled for. In a more democratic society, he is sur to lose the forth-coming election to the opposition. What a naive president! I-D-I-O-T.

Impeachment is not necessary, Just an apology will be ok. But hell no and if he tries, he will post a lousy rant on "Facebook".

You would be right in a more democratic and egalitarian society. Also, in such a society the amount of threats and ultimatum being issued to the president by this same people would have gotten them arrested!

Those calling for his impeachment do not believe they can unsit the President just like that.

This is a political tactic to keep the oct 1 gaffe alive as long as necessary.

But when Adamu Ciroma talks about not feeling safe he should also remember that some others have not felt safe in his own version of Nigeria in the last 50years.
