Ubenedictus:I wonder how some people will be claiming richest pastor in a country where over 60% are poor? including their members, these are criminal act, if not for money collected everyday inform of tithes, seed etc, through dubious means, what else do they do to become rich? They have failed to realize that the people(contributing) members are the church still they ignore them and be chasing fame, ignoring the purpose of their calling by twisting the Scripture to justify their greed. Investing in bricks rather than human.. 1 Like |

Ubenedictus:In 2005 after a similar church pastor would have stolen my money, stolen my car, my house and my beautiful twin sister, I was investigating churches with my cousin who manna fell from heaven for and we went to Oyedepo church. But I'll tell you first about Tunde Bakare church. Now that was a sermon. It's been years and I got a hole in my head so stuff leaks out but when I heard Bakare my heart literaly, as did I, leaped up and clapped for him and the congregation got up and joined in too. Quickly, as soon as the sermon ended my cousin and I fled and she said I was crazy! "They don't stand up and clap for Pastor!" I was like, "why not? It was a very good sermon!" And she said, "You are crazy", and warned me not to crazy at Oyedepo church. On the road first try, moto full, road jam, I'm like "what the fuq!" And returned home, no way putting myself through suffer to mog in Ota from Ikotun! Following Sunday, two hours early while everyone' was still in bed, we arrived. Got to say, the space was neat and tidy, organised, economical, well aired, a decent view wherever one sat. I walked around and checked - na only cousin, me and ushers kuku de that time, though ushers watched with disapproval as I embarrassed my cousin. Just what one would expect from a mathematician, and I wondered if this was for real. I chose a seat near the back despite ushers ushering me front and watched the place fill up. Service began on time, no two hour noise making nonsense! And then Oyedepo preached! At Bakare's, the feeling I'd had was a teacher teaching "calculus", which was impressive, but as I was leaving, I could see his congregation didn't understand a word he had said. While Oyedepo was going to one day teach calculus to his congregation but knew he had to start from 1 + 1 = 2. In my own opinion, considering how well he's grown since then, building Oyedepo City and all, I think he qualifies as a competent individual who has most definitely been fruitful and multiplied and replenished and subdued and has dominion and is therefore, very blessed. I'm at least very certain that if I ever achieve ⅛ of ⅛ Oyedepo, I would say God blessed me. I don't agree that he was "milking anyone dry". He is a teacher afterall, and must be paid. But if what Oyedepo is getting is "special curse" then I better tell God to not bless me but "special curse me" instead! What ya say Ube, shall I oya nana nana na or not? Ok, let's ask. Anyone here go Oyedepo church 2005? Come tell if it profit you! |

desiredhome:And what have you to say to the politicians who do not only steal from you, but make you kill your fellow youths to keep them happily in the game of stealing? They starve you, put guns in yours hands, when they're done using you, they turn their backs on you. When you try to speak up, are arrested and jailed. Why haven't I heard your voice against that? When the Lord promised to make his servants as fruitful and relevant as the Palm Tree, do you have an idea of what He meant? Do you know what a Cider Tree is? That is what the Lord said He wld bless His servants and they wld be as tall, strong and valuable as the cider Tree. What that means is that, no human being outside of God can compare himself to anyone the Lord blesses. Go figure. |

budaatum:It is profiting me o. Ha, before before eh. If you mention Oyedepo for my ear, I go bite off the words from your mouth before you finish. Say 'Winners', before you add 'Chapel', In my mind I go dey see private jet dey fly every where. I didn't didn't hide my displeasure about their way of doing things. I had never gone anywhere close to them o. Never listened to any sermon from them o. But, as far as I was concerned, I knew their ways and they were antigospel. For one reason or the other, I became dissatisfied with where I as worshiping and decided to move somewhere else. Ah, if 'Later Rain Assembly' was in my environment, I wld ve considered it, as I like Tunde Bakare well. So, I started praying asking God to direct me where He wld have me worship Him. I didn't want to just move. For two whole yrs, I went to my former Church, was involved in all the activities, but needed to leave that place. Two yrs later, a neighbor invited me to Winners Chapel for his WOFBI graduation. I went just to honour him, not because if the Church. Oh, I enjoyed myself. It was very lively. Everything abt it. I can't explain it. It was like, 'there was light'. After service I went home. I was exhilarant all day. I couldn't even connect the service I had attended to it. Next sunday, I saw myself preparing to go there for first service, afterwards I went to my Church. The very first night vigil I attended there confirmed that I was to become a member there. It was through satellite. On TV. Those people can rise and sit eh. The people saw as cold and prayerless, now I saw rising to pray five times before the service starts. And this is not even prayer meeting o. Na so una dey pray for here? And the prayers all for the Church, new converts and other believers. Only one for personal supplication. Ha. Selflessness. Their Papa, climbed the pulpit, he was wearing white and a red tire. Everybody stood up, I didn't. He was not my pastor. I didn't know him. As that man open his mouth to pray for the Word, something happened that I wld never forget. I was his skeptic. I didn't believe in his ministry. I wasn't there because of him. But, something happened. There was a shift. Like the ground shifted and I saw myself kneeling right under Bishop Oyedepo on the Altar. His hand was on my head and he was making declarations. In a split second, I felt it again. The ground literally shifted, I felt the shift, I found myself sitting where I was. This happened my eyes were opened. I didn't clsoe my eyes to say I was imagining things. I never liked or saw Pa Oyedepo as a man of God to say I was fixated on him. That was my very first time of seeing him on TV. When that encounter took place, I felt the Love for the man enveloping me. I couldn't understand, by I loved him. And still love him today. For two yrs I went back abd forth my Church. It always felt like I was descending from a higher place with the sun and heat, to a lower place with only light, but no heat. That Church teaches a balanced gospel. He teaches Kingdom principles, principles that so many preachers know nothing abt. Step by step scriptures. See testimonies to confirm that was where I shd be. When I joined the work force, I discovered that those people are Workaholics. If you want to follow everything they do church, you'd sleep in Church. They are no casual at all as I thought. You can never know someone by just lookin from outside. 1 Like 1 Share |

It is a very good thing we pattern our lives and well-being according to the Lord Jesus Christ, He had all His needs/wants supplied at the right time and was lacking in nothing when He was on earth. He also had a treasurer(Judas Iscariot) and women supporters like Joanna, Mary Magdalene, Susana and a host of others who ministered to and provided for Him and them (the disciples) out of their property and personal belongings. In the teaching of prosperity most people are on the extremes; 1.Many don't have their wants supplied according to God's riches in heaven because they think they ought to have nothing in order not to veer from the way of salvation thereby thinking it is God's will for them and other Christians to remain poor(materially). Even the spiritual life of most people in this category is not robust enough based on my own opinion. 2. Many have accumulated all things for themselves, then, have a developed mindset that they are in line with God not knowing they are on the way that seemeth right but leads to destruction. These set of people judge their spiritual growth by their material gains. What a pity! Prosperity is all way round and most especially in Spirit, Soul and Body. In all, we should try and know God's plan concerning our lives in regards to the mission He has assigned for us here on earth and ask Him to supply all that we need to accomplish it both Spiritually and Materially. Thanks. God bless. 1 Like 1 Share |

OkCornel:Fa, fa, fa, fa, foul! It is a lie from the pit of hell!!! When I say this man is spiritually bankrupt, ignorant people would start speaking out of the abundance of their ignorance. How antichrist, mammonic, heretic etcetera can it get than this comment of Oyedepo? If so, why couldn't Satan touch anything Job had because of the hedge, before God permitted him? And how much tithe did Job have to pay before he recovered more than what he lost to the devil? But of course mammon worshippers would keep a blind to such heresy, and keep defending the mammonic prophet even if he says the reason people are in hell is because they didn't tithe. Nonsense! Job 42:12 (KJV) So the LORD blessed the latter end of Job more than his beginning: for he had fourteen thousand sheep, and six thousand camels, and a thousand yoke of oxen, and a thousand she asses. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zsCvF1m9fSo 1 Like 1 Share

Jesusjnr, I'm here. Come on over. And, answer all of these questions while you are at it. Is Jehovah against is Children prospering materially? Did he create Gold and Silver? Why did he create them? Who did He create them for? For his 'enemy', satan and his followers? If Abraham were to be alive today, wld Oyedepo's wealth be equated to his? If Isaac who was richer than a whole nation of Philistine were to be alive today, wld Adeboye's wealth be compared to his? If Job were to be alive today, wld Kenneth Copeland's wealth be compared to his? If David was alive today, wld Benny Hinn's wealth be compared to his? If Solomon were alive today, wld all the wealth of all these men you mentioned put together be compared to? What did Jehovah say He'd reward those who diligently seek him with? Don't come here and be shouting Oyedepo without scriptures. Answer these questions then we 'd know if Oyedepo is wrong. |

Anas09: Please set the ball rolling with scriptural evidences on the case study of Job. I recall it was God who removed His protection from Job before Satan could strike. Was God's protection dependent on whether Job tithed or not? Did Job eventually tithe his way back to restoration? 1 Like 1 Share |

Anas09: Link to the video where Bishop Oyedepo spoke on Job; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zsCvF1m9fSo Transcript of the Video as Bishop Oyedepo preached on Job & Tithing "You cannot see anywhere Job tithed, so his blessing was not secured. You can't find anywhere Job tithed. No. He was overly committed to giving liberally to the poor, and God was committed to bless him, but there was NO SECURITY. If you ask the devil, one of the greatest problems on this earth today is this short man. So if I am not smart enough to secure my life, he would devastate me. But he can't reach me. I serve a covenant keeping God, and will rebuke - I won't want you to do anything just leave me to him. He would say , what is your name devourer? I rebuke you! stay off that environment. This church began tithing on a business skill, that is we calculate what it is in everything and tithe it. See the protection, see the preservation, see the leaps and bounds of God's blessing, see how untouchable the system is, see how untouchable it is" Anas09... Bishop has spoken, over to you. Was Job attacked by Satan because he did not tithe? Or because God voluntarily removed His hedge of protection. Did Job tithe his way back to restoration?

Hinn’s outright rejection of the prosperity gospel comes just two months after his nephew, Costi Hinn, revealed in his new book, God, Greed, and the (Prosperity) Gospel: How Truth Overwhelms a Life Built on Lies, how his family exploited millions around the world with the prosperity gospel and often traded so-called miracles for money.. |
