Joy And Daniel Shares Experiences - Sunday Buffet @ Scotchbonnet Restaurant by daxlinks(m): 7:00pm On Jul 05, 2019
Joy and Daniel were so excited to be returning home for the holidays. It had been 3 months of missing the warmth and comfort of home. They had spoken to mum the previous day and she had sounded really enthusiastic and excited. Their flight was scheduled for 12 noon and their school had made all the necessary arrangements to convey them and the other Nigerian kids to the airport. Mum was surely going to be waiting for her darlings at the airport with hugs , kisses and lots of love. The flight was a very normal one. While Daniel talked with the boy seated next to him who was a basketball player who just went pro and was returning home to visit his sick mom, joy buried her head in her novel.

In a few hours they were at the Murutala Mohammed international airport trying to find Mum. At first there was no cause for alarm, she was probably a few minutes late, Lagos traffic and all. But soon it was 45 minutes and there was still no sign of her. They tried to call her and her phone was switched off, like switched off. Who switches of their phone the day two angels are set to return from school?. Daniel took charge, he knew something was Amiss but couldn't figure out what it was, but he wasn't going to be stranded at the airport with his little sister. So he called a taxi, told him their destination, negotiated and soon they were on their way home. The drive was long and boring. The flight had been exhaustive and with Mum not coming to pick them up or sending the driver something seemed desperately wrong. They got home just when Lola the housekeeper was alighting from the gate, the ran towards them and greeted them. She picked up their boxes and headed straight for the house, still no explanation. Joy clutched her teddy bear tightly, she didn't know what to expect. Some minutes later the phone rang it was Mom, she told them she had been caught up in a meeting and that she was on her way home to make it up to them. Although her explanation on the phone didn't sound convincing enough the kids waited for her to get home. Mom arrived 30 minutes later and she was not alone, she was with Dad. They had not seen their Dad in a year so this was beyond all shades of surprising. Mom was the mediator she tried to calm the kids down and apologized for not coming to pick them up. Dad had been involved in a little accident and she had to drive all the way to Ore to pick him up impromptu. The driver Kayode had gone shopping for food items mom was supposed to prepare to receive them but he had committed a little offense while driving so was held up by the FRSC officers. Joy and Daniel breathed a sigh of relief, good thing no one was hurt and they were all here together now. Mum suggested a family dinner in a really comfy family restaurant and they all echoed "Scotch bonnet" in unison. There were certainly a lot of other restaurants in Lagos but there was no better place to have a lovely family Sunday outing that doubled as a reunion. In no time they were seated at the beautiful Scotch Bonner restaurant, chatting and laughing while enjoying the sumptuous meals they had ordered. It was indeed a lovely Sunday
