In a country with a very sunny weather that makes paint on buildings fade quickly or where rain falls constantly with the attendant peeling off of paint on walls, we should be having business people looking into making Coloured cement. People can plaster the exterior of their homes and properties with colored cement and use normal paint in the interiors. Why is Aliko Dangote not thinking in this direction. Colored cement exists in some parts of Africa and many developed nations.

That's very good, Nigeria fail to know that this is a very good spot for making good profits. You can sell the cow milk to confectionary stores that would need it, or even big departmental stores before you know you've become a millionaire.

And to me it doesn't take much, all you need is to have a large field or space, as I assume most of us have lands in our villages and all you have to do is buy four or three cows, immunize them and to the necessary stuff, then you've started production. You can even educate some Fulani people to tender the cows for you, while you pay them salary. In that way, we would be developing ourselves. God bless you.

My exact sentiments! A handful of people I know are already doing this; and have set up mini-ranches. Each time I hear people speak against cattle rearing, I feel very sad for the kind of mindset and biases most Nigerians hold.

If we say we don't want fulanis on our land what stops the indigenes of each locality from raising the cattle themselves? Especially considering how large the beef market is. Lagos alone slaughters thousands of cows every day, not to talk of the numbers across several other cities and towns across Nigeria. Not to talk of cow skins and other by-products that would be made through the value chain.

And that cement brings in billions.. You don't become the richest man just by laundering cash.. Forbes investigate the source of your income and they most be legit.. That is why politicians and co don't make it.. The guy is into two many biz ventures bringing in billions.. He into oil and gas, cement, tomatoes, salt and sugar, noodles and so on..

My take is that u have to be a smart business man to launder money for years without being caught.. So give the man some credit

Was it two or a year ago, I knew he was delving into dairy production. Brookside Dairies of Kenya also declared interest dunno how far. But with Dangote entering the sector, the likes of L & Z, Integrated Dairies, Nagari and Friesland Campina should get ready for serious competition. Unsurprisingly, he is better positioned to get into the sector as dairy farming has a long gestational period biologically and financially. So with the wealth and expertise it can buy, Dangote is better placed.

Expect an increase in levies for imported dairy products or possibly ban sef ditto for tomato paste. One way or another, the bill of over a billion dollars spent importing dairy products will reduce and we might leave the group of top countries importing dairy products from the Netherlands (currently the only African country on the list).
