This is seriously causing a mad debate on-line

Barcelona Star and Argentina star Lionel Messi barely lasted the first half as he saw a red card after a brawl with Chile’sGary Medel in the third-place play-off of the Copa America.

Referee Mario Diaz saw the incident and issued a straight red to both players.

However, many football fans are blasting the “harsh punishment” handed to the Barcelona talisman, with questions as to why the ref didn’t consult the VAR to downgrade to a yellow card.


While another set of football fans think its a deserved red for Messi as he instigated the whole incident by frustrating Medel.
