I like the way you try to reason things. But unfortunately, you are still getting it wrong. Most sexual abuse and predation happens with someone the victim trusts absolutely, and in many cases, people the victim trusts and respects. So there is no physical threat or someone holding knife to your throat. All the instances, Mrs Fayemi cited were by people the parents trusted completely. I must stress, that young boys also suffer sexual abuse by older females and males in homes, schools, mosques and churches. A guy posted a personal story in this thread of a male first cousin Bro Niyi, who regularly rubbed his preeq on his body and anus. Bro Niyi also molested many other young relatives. Most sexual predation happens in non-threatening situations over a long period of time. Please check out the rape or sexual predation story of Harvey Wenstein, Bill Cosby and ongoing story of billionaire Jerry Epstein, hundreds of stories of Catholic priests sexually abusing young alter boys and nuns, and compare them to the behaviour of Fatoyinbo. The pattern is that of a highly respected professional or religious figure who had significant influence over the victim. ericsmith: |

You stayed out of brother Lai's way at 13yrs after the attempt you said. My question is why didn't Busola stay away from COZA pastor after the first rape at 17. It was not as if she was living with him, like he was the one training her, therefore she didn't have any where to go to or anyone to train her like the late Benue girl that couldn't speak out or leave the house when being molested by her auntie's husband and son cos of fear of being thrown out of the house or beaten. Why will Busola let one man rape her twice? |

[quote author=cuteboy2 post=80098643]I like the way you try to reason things. But unfortunately, you are still getting it wrong. Most sexual abuse and predation happens with someone the victim trusts absolutely, and in most cases, people the victim trusts and respects. your perception is from the normal angle everyone stands and i understand you ,am only tryin to open you to another view ... most times we all do things n blame it on the devil , some will even drink alcohol to misbehave n later blame its on the bottle ... there is a yoruba adage that say pesin wey we teach evil wey go do am, evil tendencies are in the person already ..he/she just need a catalyst . "someone the victim trusts absolutely, and in most cases, people the victim trusts and respects" why is it only sex related. if fatoyinbo had brought a knife to kill her would she have submitted that way, no scream. why do human react same way when its death but differently when its sex |

Vera230: Your question is both nonsensical and irrelevant. Scientific and empirical research has shown that people react differently to trauma. |
