11:00, Lydia finally let me go to bed by 11:00
. How long will my life be so painful? life with
my step mom has been hell! She didn’t even
have plans of letting me go until I lied, i had to
tell her that my period showed up and she had
to let me go because the entire neighbourhood
knows that odeya has bad cramps!
I tried lying on my bed when I received a text
from rose, i looked Into her window and her
room lights where shining brightly; its obvious
she is missing me.I rushed out of my room, i’d
rather sleep with my bestie than stay alone in
this heaven forsaken room thinking about
Lydia.

” what are you looking at?”I asked her because
she was deeply engrossed in her laptop
“Odeya come closer,check out this
headline”she said adjusting on her bed.
“Dream high school isn’t a school , rather it is
‘hell.” These where the last words of min soo,
senior high student of dreame high school who
just committed suicide today;she is just 18. in a
white paper min soo had boldly written
“girlfriends?”..no, it should be “girl-devils.” The
industry behind “girlfriends” had taken the
issue seriously.
” a student commits suicide out of depression,
but she blames it on a female band of girls juzt
her age; Is the world really going to believe
that lie?” These where the words of Richard,
General manager of v entertainment.

“Odeya, dreame high school is really scary”
rose said.
“I don’t really care, odeya doesn’t go to school
and its obvious I never will.I am just really
really sorry for min soo.”i said.
“Me too,”she said.
My phone sparkled and I saw a text, since
8pm. I opened up and it was The manager our
dept in blinkz hotels/suites.
Odeya there will be a show on Saturday night
at the hall,you have been chosen as one of the
waiters.
“Ok sir”I repiled.
” show?”rose asked
“Yes Saturday night.”I said
She hastily browsed it and it previewed.
Lenora Thompson will be seen live at blinkz on
Saturday night in honour of the presidents
wife’s birthday.
I smiled and hugged rose tight,Lenora Is my
role model.
“I can’t believe am going to watch Lenora sing
” i said.
“Better prepare to look good,the show is still a
bit far”she said.
“Silly u, am on the waiting list”I said and she
smiled.

I hastily stood up and rushed out.

I pulled into my window and Lydia was
standing there with her face like Lydia the
killer
” you told me you got your period and u were
weak and sleepy,am i right?” she asked.
“Well I just —
“But it’s obvious you are very fit tonight, follow
me!!” She said and i followed her innocently.
We got to the passage and she brought out a
Basket of beads.

madam Lincoln cheated me,”she said.
” can’t I count it tomorrow, you know I really —
“Start!!!!!” She shouted and headed into her
room.
I sat on the floor and started counting, ever
since my mum ran away, I stopped living .
I was done by 3:30,i hastily rushed into my
room to sleep.
“IS that stupid girl still sleeping,odeya!!” My
stepmother shouted, she woke me up from my
sleep.
I stood up and picked my clock;its 4:00 am,it’s
time to open her shop, i better jump out the
window so she won’t slap me for delaying.

Other kids are going to school, but what about
me?
I work alot of jobs daily, trying to survive is not
really easy.
I help so many women both pregnant and lazy
to clean their shops early In the morning. I
headed to all the shops one after the other just
after I was done cleaning lydia’s store. i locked
their doors and I kept their keys.
I did this half awake and half asleep.

Day broke and i ran off to “pause for pizza,”
that’s where i work ; both delivery and manual
service.
” good morning sir,” I said, I was fully drooling
and looking so tired but I can’t miss work, I
might get fired.
” s-square entertainment ordered coffee,” he
said.
” dreame?,”i asked.
“Yes, the company not the “boyfriends”
house!!”he said.
“I understand sir, i will take their order.” I said
as I hastily wore my t-shirt and ran off with the
coffee neatly arranged. thank God s-square is
really close, and After this delivery i will go
home for a hot bath. I can’t even open my eye
well,i cant even see well,God help me!
The security let me in and i strolled in while
really really trying to clear my sight.

I suddenly ran into someone , the hot coffee
poured on us both and stained his shirt. He
flinched with full shock, my own mouth was now
open. he is tall And has a sexy figure,he is
just too beautiful. his blue eyes was already
turning wet with pain as he rolled his eyes. I
looked into his white transparent shirt and i saw
the red marks on his flat tummy….odeya what
did you do?
” sir–“….
” what the — how the hell can you be so stupid
miss!!!” he yelled, while hastily brushing his
diamond laid finger from his forehead into his
hair.

” am sorry, am really sorry..i..i wasn’t seeing
clearly,please i didn’t –” i couldnt talk again
because i saw the gold necklace he was
wearing,it was originally signed “boyfriend”…o
h my God, he Is an idol . i odeya, a
nobody; i just wounded an idol…
am dead!!!

Security came out from different sides, both
men and women.
“Are you okay sir?”they asked him.
He didn’t talk rather he just used a finger to
open the first few buttons of his shirt then he
strolled out;catwalking slowly and weakly.
” How can this common girl be so
careless,someone call the police!!”a man
shouted
“I already called them sir”a girl repiled.
I got so scared, i looked at the pretty boy but
he already entered his car and the driver took
off,he doesn’t really even care.
officers already arrived
“You are under arrest for being careless”the
officer said.
“But I –“I couldn’t talk because
They already cuffed my hands and dragged me
away, odeya odeya, you where really born to
suffer.
They officers where about dragging me into a
car when a girl in suite rushed out.
” let her go” the girl said.
“What do u mean let her go” the other man
asked the girl personally.
” sir edwardo said the idol’s do not need
another scandal on their head, so tell them to
let her go”she said quietly to the other man and
walked out.
The man instructed the officers to let me go.
They uncuffed me and let me go. I ran off and
hastily headed back to pause for pizza.
I arrived and rose was waiting on the
couch,seems school is over.
“Odeya what kept you?”She asked me.
“Wont you change, are u not working today?”i
asked in wonder.
“No, tomorrow,”she said.
“Ok. Actually I was almost arrested,I ran into
an idol and poured hot coffee on him”I said.

“Yes, he left me to get arrested..it was one sir
edwardo that let me go” I added.

founder of dreame.
“Foster,what about his real parents?
“I don’t know,but which of the dreame boys did
you meet?”She asked me.

them”I said.

was 12, he was sent on 5 years training in

it has been recorded that Bryan is the idol with
the highest net worth in this part of the world
followed by Jeremy and nana from
“girlfriends” ;my very role own model. Right
now i guess bryan should be about 21 or 22 but
he is crazily rich.”she said
“so who is bryan dating,”i asked,I wonder why
I suddenly got interested.

every year though the board said they have not
met the voice they are searching for, they need
an extraordinary voice odeya, just like
yours”she said.
“You signed up, do u really want to compete?”I
asked her
“Yes,I will soon get my date when I should
sing. the competition is online and the girl with
the extraordinary voice might sing with Bryan
on the national competition,who knows!”she
said.
“that mean guy”I asked
she smiled.
“at least he Is cute”she said.
” seems sweet, I hope your voice gets
recognized bes”I said.
“ODEYA please compete,u have the voice of
1000 fallen angels,I have been begging you
since last 2years”she said.
I looked at my body and her eye also ran down
my skin too.she saw the cane marks and whips
all over my body.
“ODEYA your father would not know you sang,
he won’t flog you I promise”she said.
” What if he finds out,who will save me, u know
my mom ran away right?”I said.
” ODEYA I don’t like the way you are suffering
in the hands of lydia, if you become the next
dreame girl your life will change, u will go to
dreame high school as a star and that’s my
wish for you.”I said.
She hugged me tight.
Singing is not meant for me,I can’t possibly try
having that dream.I won’t dream about about
it,I won’t even dream of being a singer
because I know it’s not meant for me.

Rose already left, I need to go to haley’s
house, its already late.
” sir my shift is over!!”I shouted as I ran away
“See you tommorrow”he said.
Anyways my name is odeya,
For me school has been in and out. I have
different jobs,
I don’t only work at “pause for pizza,” I also
work at Haley’s; thats where I work as a maid
on marked days. I also work at “Mark a movie”
only on days when Mrs Patrick is on duty.
I spend most of My afternoon at haley’s house,
haley is 14, her parents are very rich; she is
very lazy but kind too. i help with her school
problems and personal work….We are very
very close.
My dad is a smoker, and when u offend him he
hits you;he doesnt love me,he never did.
My step mom Lydia is a wicked soul. my mom
has an awesome voice, i mean my birth mum.
she was Indeed blessed with the raw talent of
singing, but her husband; my dad ;he is a
dream killer. He didn’t even allow her when her
closest dream was on the line, she had to run
away to live that dream. I forgive her for
running but I will never forgive her for running
without me.
I grew up with same amazing voice, but I was
warned never to sing in his house.. sleeping on
the streets is Normal,each time I sang if he
doesn’t beat me he sends me outside.
he did all this until I stopped, did I stop? I don’t
really know… but I know that singing makes
me happy, so other than singing every day and
getting whipped I better save my songs for sad
days of my life.
I hate pain, but living with Lydia made pain my
close friend. I just wish, somehow…… anyhow,
I just wish to go far away from this house.
I wish someone will take me away from home.
Who can possibly take me away,all I want to
hear is “odeya,will you live in my house?” If I
ever hear these words I will surely say yes in a
haste.

She turned to look at Me and i walked in fully.
She sat with her best friend Anna and her other
friend Ellen.
She was deeply engrossed in her phone.
” hey odeya,hand me that phone and have a
sit” she said , pointing to her other phone.
I handed her the phone.
“Good day”I said to both her friends.
They smiled and i sat down.
” miss?”I said in wonder
“Guess what?”She said.
“Ok what?”I asked.
“i was telling my dad about you; the girl who
makes me happy,” she said, and i stupidly
blushed.
” really?” I asked.
“Yes, don’t you want to go to school? I had
been bothering dad to give you a scholarship in
dream high but he said that its no longer
possible,i kept begging him and finally he said
he could give you special admission,He also
said that u Wont need to make any payment,its
a secured type of admission,he already called
the school board. what do you think?” She
finally asked me.
“But i don’t like that school,I heard its very
dangerous and people keep dying”I said.
“ODEYA this is an opportunity,
don’t you have dreams for yourself? ODEYA
you are not enough! you can be more.”she
said.
” But am a commoner,am not rich like you
are.they will bully me till I commit suicide”I
said.
All her friends smiled.
“Who ever said you will be going as a
commoner?”Anna asked
“What?”I said.
“We will do a simple shopping and you will
attend dreame high school as a friend to Haley
who just returned from Dubai” Ellen said.
” I dont-
“This is the only way you can study in dreame
highschool and successfully graduate” Haley
said.
” you want me to go to dreame high school and
live a lie?”I asked
“Yes a big lie” Anna said
“What do you think”Ellen said
“I heard you have great acting skills,its no
biggy”Anna said.
“ODEYA can you do it?”Haley asked.
“so I was even thinking her name should be
lexi Johan,A non existing figure;that way
Google Wont give them any feed” Anna said.
” it’s no biggy odeya, if you are smart,wise and
strong you will play this game and become a
graduate of dreame high,that certificate is
enough to change your life..you can do it,you
can survive in dreame high.” Haley said.
“ODEYA say yes,I know to can do it.”Anna
said.
” I don’t think my dad and Lydia would let me
go to school.”I said.
“You have not even accepted the offer yet,
firstly say you will do it ” Ellen said.

” Haley I really can’t ,I can’t be another
person,I can only be myself”I said.
” fine,it was just an idea and it was optional,I
was just trying to secure you from bulies”she
said.
” ODEYA you know what ,you don’t need to lie
but at the same time u don’t need to tell the
truth as well.dreame high is now a signed
school for the rich so anyone who sees you
there would mark you as rich. So don’t make
the mistake of telling anyone about your
background,you need to let them wonder”Ellen
said.
“Ok”I repiled.
“Also rich kids get intimidated too,so becareful
and dont let anyone intimidate you.” Anna said
I nodded.
” also try as much as u can not to leak your
identity until your admission is based and
secured”Haley said.
I nodded
“So are u in?”She asked
“My dad is another issue , I said.
“U can convince him” she said.
“Ok,am in”I replied.
“I already bought your uniform baby!!”she said

school bag,so expensive.
I smiled

I smiled and took the stuffs from her.
I was done helping her mum in the kitchen after
which I finished cleaning their store house then
I left the house.
I left.I looked at students who passed by and i
was happy because I was going to be one of
them if only dad would let me.
I headed off to Mark a movie and i returned
home later.I had called rose am sure shes
waiting in my room.

I opened the door and bowed to him,he saw
the bag I was holding
“My cigarette is out and u went shopping?”he
asked
“No I didn’t,its my school uniform”I said.
“What!!”he exclaimed
“Dad I got admission,don’t worry it’s free of

“Oh so you want to go and start singing right?
U want to sing yourself into madness like your
mother did right?” He said.
“No,I never sang after you warned me not too,I
won’t sing,I promise.

said.
” Blake don’t let odeya go to school please,she
still has alot of things to do ,school is not meant
for everybody” Lydia said waking in.
I breathed out,its very useless.once Lydia
speaks my dad always honours her.I stood up
and tried walking out when my dad spoke up
” ODEYA,you are free to go to school,but u
shall never sing “he said, and i nodded smiling.
I rushed in happily ,for the first time he
supported me. Lydia dragged me back in the
passage

I headed into my room and dropped my bag.I
saw the cream my mum produced for hot water
burns,I wish I can see that guy again,maybe I

have treated himself by now, he seemed rich.
I fell on my bed and forced sleep but rose
snuck in and i awoke.
“Congrats bes”she said.
I smiled.

“No you Wont, listen if it gets difficult run
away.instead of lying run away”she said and i

Early the next morning I was already done with
all my duties,both indoor and outdoor.
I snuck out before Lydia could catch me.
I dressed up and even wore my shoe on the
road while runing away.
I took a cab and arrived at the school gate,it
looked like heaven.
ODEYA remember you must never sing.
Never get intimidated.
Never let them know your identity,u don’t need
to lie but u don’t also need to tell the truth. God
please help me cos am so scared.
I watched different cars drive into the school
compound.I used the foot route and a man was
there..security
” where is your car ma’am?” He said

” anyways you are late,where is your pass?”

“When you arrive late for anything in school
you will be sent home unless you submit a
pass okay” he said.
“yes sir” I repiled and he smiled

He said and opened the gate so I walked in
smiling.
Everything was so beautiful,every girl looked
hot and all the guys looked classy.
I smiled as I walked further,some girls waving
at Me

I looked at my shoes and smiled.
I walked further while tucking my hair into my
ear.i didn’t even know when I ran into
someone,I helped her pick her books then i

omg!!! kill me, its spark’s min ah, am standing

are like normal people in dreame high.
“Hy, seems you are the new girl”she said,
collecting her book
I smiled and nodded,I swear I almost
bowed.we strolled further.

” Yes” i said

I looked at 4 of them,I thought they where
5.whoops!! they are all pretty and expensive.
The pretty hotness was closer to the friendly
looking one then the remaining 2 where
behind.he looked at me for a while, its obvious
he didn’t recognize me, I mean why would he
recognize me..I shouldn’t be in dreame high.
he rolled his pretty eye .
” in the future, you should be less clumsy” he
said and walked past me.I looked at them and
they walked past totally.Thank God,now my
identity is secure..he didn’t recognize me.
” guys we have history class” a student said
and they cleared out.. zaina left with her
crew.Min ah came to me
” do you know Bryan from somewhere?”She
asked me

” do u know why commoners suffered in

“Well the students rioted against scholarship
but the school board didn’t listen and gave
scholarship so the whole students bulied and
treated commoners bad until the either ran
away or committed suicide. After this the
scholarship was closed also meaning no more
commoners.ODEYA if you get found out you
Wont survive it and secondly your admission
won’t be steady it would start shaking and you
might loose it” she said.
” I will try my best to stay safe” I said.

We sat in our room up stairs, yea we normally
attend class from here but not when sir barder
is in class, the man is so mean and he Wont
attend class unless everybody is present and if
you don’t attend his class he would send an
appeal to sir edwardo and sir edwardo doesnt
play with studies. We all watched the class
from the projector, jeremy sat pouring himself a
glass of wine, he likes wine. jace loves food as
well as bryan, though Bryan won’t show it. I
love chocolates ..Bryan went to meet sir
barder,you won’t believe he took the 99th
position again,we have been laughing our
brains out.
” jace this new girl is hot” I said as I watched
her from the projector,eating a pen in
class..what a girl.
” Yea, shes pretty. I heard she’s under political
money, she looks like them” jace said.
I watched Jeremy who was looking at her for a
while as he sipped his wine.
“Political money? I wonder who her father is”
Jeremy said.
“We can still investigate, Austin said walking in,
I thought he traveled.
Austin is just the baddest in our crew,so bad.
” Austin I thought you traveled?”Jeremy said.
” I have an invite to Lenora’s show at
blinkz,who is coming with?”Austin asked.
” am going” Jeremy said.
” we all are “, i said looking at jace who nodded.
” where is our 001?” Austin asked.
” I think sir barder called him?”jace said
” don’t tell me he took the 100th position
again”Austin said and we laughed.
Class ended and we watched from the projector
as the whole students faced the new girl.
” so miss political money,who is your father?”k
asked her.
We all started laughing when the girl ran away
and the whole class ran after her jeremy
smiled.
” I think that girl is a commoner”Austin said.
” I don’t think so,she’s a friend to Haley
Darren,the senators daughter” jace said
” good because we don’t need commoners any
more,the news and chaos was much”I said.
” I still think she is a commoner” Austin said.
” why?”Jeremy asked
“Ok guys, lets investigate her. she is my own
scape goat and she’s hot sooo, if it turns out
that she’s a commoner I won the bet and
number 2 I will use that to lure her into my bed”
Austin said.
We smiled.
” what If she says no,not every girl is as cheap
as you think” I said.
” If she says no,I will make dream high hell for
her”he said.
“Thats possible but she’s not a
commoner,she’s pure political money” I said.
“Then it’s a bet,I will prove that she’s a
commoner and all of you will help me get her or
ruin her ” Austin said
“What if you don’t prove her a commoner”I
asked him.
” I will do the next Saturday clean up alone” he
said and i love the sound of that.
“Ok game ” jace said.
” am in” I shouted.
Jeremy didn’t talk ,he just watched the preview
quietly as the girl ran round about the
compound, he chuckled.
“Jeremy?”Austin said
“Waaaaat… sure” Jeremy said.
” Ok Austin,we are waiting for your almighty
proof” I said.
” thats easy, we have a meeting with Mr
williams later tonight and am leaving after the
show Saturday”Austin said.
” cool,” I said.
” what’s her name?”Austin asked, he loves
women like mad but that girl is hot.
“We don’t know”jace said.

I had been runing for a while now, immediately
I heard
” hey political money, you didn’t tell us your
fathers name” i ran for my life.
I was looking for a place to hide and finally I
found one.
I snuck up and climbed the stairs soon I
arrived. I took a deep breath as I looked
around.I looked down and saw Bryan omg..am
so lucky.
But what is he doing here alone. it’s so pretty
down here and he doesn’t even know someone
is here.
he is so cute,he looks like a baby.reminds me
of David, that’s Mrs Patrick’s son, I take care of
him sometimes.
I leaned on the pavement and watched bryan
quietly,why don’t u have a friend to stay with
pretty hotness?
He suddenly sang out, ok he is trying to write a
song. I heard in class that he has the lowest
grade,always taking the 100th position,so cute
and funny.

queen zaina, somebody just kill me let me die.
He was done writting, He dropped the paper
and picked his milk shake so cute the diamond
ring on his finger shined. Why does he enjoy
being in this lonely place.odeya how did you
find this place? I looked around and that was
when I saw the signs

I wanted to leave but He was trying to open the
milk shake cup and he couldn’t, ordinary cup!!
He can’t open it ,hahaha so funny, he really
can’t open a cup , how many maids do u have?
He was opening it from the wrong direction then
he exclaimed angrily
” ahhh annoying, open already” he said softly.
And I didn’t even know when I spoke
“Put your finger under from the left edge ” I
said, oh no WHAT did I do? i used a finger to
cover my mouth and he successfully opened
the drink he smiled then he looked up and I
moved in.
I think he saw me,omg no where to hide.
” just come out,whoever you are”he said.
Omg odeya hold your mouth.
I watched him drop his cup on the chair then he
rushed up after me.
