Eyah! Sorry to burst your bubble. This does not apply in Ilorin. It does not even apply in the whole of Nigeria as Nigeria is one of the countries with the lowest age of consent. This low age of consent actually needs to be corrected. Most people keep applying the American laws to Nigeria probably because of the American movies you’ve watched.

I may be wrong but I don’t think age of consent in Nigeria is 16. Kwara is regarded as a northern state so, the age of consent may be 16 due to the Islamic penal code. For southern states, the age of consent is 18.
