Manchester United legend Dimitar Berbatov posted a comical video on Instagram of him saving his daughter from being struck by a stray football, MySportDab reports.

The slow motion clip shows Berbatov rebounding the ball off a wall inside his family home before stretching to control it as it flies precariously close to his daughter's head.

The Bulgarian was renowned for his delicate first touch on the football field, and looked relieved to pluck the ball out of the air as it headed towards his daughter.

The young girl continues to play with putty while sitting at the table, completely unaware of her topless father's desperate lunge.

Berbatov's post read: 'When you are there for your kid#Football'.

The former Bayern Leverkusen star also gave fans a reminder of his agility by completing the bottle cap challenge.
