Hello all pls I need help from someone that d child or children has passed through this tonsillitis of a thing, I was on admission with my two year old almost two months back due to highly inflamed tonsils. The temperature was something else even some brand of ibuprofen (u have to get a right brand) could not beat down d temperature. Antibiotics couldn't until they had to give via d veins then after about 5 days he was better and we were discharged to continue with oral antibiotics(one kind brand of cefuroxime) which they gave to us in d hospital. we gave him but the thing is after some days d body started getting hot again we had to go get orelox which was quite expensive but he got better. It's almost two months now but he has started running temperature again and d tonsils are inflamed again. I'm stressed this period as I have issues with bp. Pls is there any home therapy or any way to prevent d tonsillitis stuff? I know about having d tonsils removed but we are just looking at that as d LAST option though. He doesn't go to creche and he hasn't started school. He's mostly at home. We just treated his elder sister of severe tonsillitis though could it be she reinfected him? But with all the plenty antibiotics he has been taking I didn't expect he would catch it so easily. He's been on antibiotics now for 5days and just finished antimalaria but is even getting worse. Pls any ideas?

Best bet is surgery at a children's hospital...if I'm right.

But first thing first...take the child to a children's hospital so that doctors can examine and prescribe the right cure.

Tonsillitis is a viral infection n a stubborn one at that pls slow down on the antibiotics cos too much of it is not good for the child. Pls try n deworm him and feed him with garlic with his meal and pls pls pls let him stay away from indomie noodles oooooo

Mothers are trying really, could this be why children take care of their mothers more than their fathers?
Though I think it ain't fair though but mothers deserve it.
I think hospital is still the best option,home remedy might be effective too if you have experience treating such like our grandmothers.

Same thing am experiencing, but experience has thought me to keep my child warm and I also clean like crazy, did u change his tooth brush,soaked his utensils in hot water vinegar and salt? These are things I do after treatment. At least if I will have to do it I sure want to postpone it further. Pray pray pray.
Again I don't know why he was on drip, but could u do more investigation on underlining problems that might also be a cause. Goodluck( sending my love to him).

I had a long time ago.
I couldn't even swallow my saliva.
I was given injection after some days the pain became bearable and finally eat.
Since then I am sure I haven't gone to Mr Biggs more than twice in my life ( I didn't say eatery)
Happened in my final year.

Pls go to hospital. Preferably a teaching hospital.
