Ever since the residents of the Lagos-Badagry Expressway have been crying out to both the Lagos State Government and the Federal Government of Nigeria over the state of their roads, many do not understand the pains and agony they go through daily on this road.

The road which ought to have been completed and link to various parts of the state has been a death row, a journey that ought to last for minutes lasts for several hours all thanks to the abandoned roads and the number of cars plying this road daily. For the records, this road has a closed boundary and link to other West African countries like Benin, Togo and many more.

Early this month, The Lagos State Government flagged off the reconstruction of this road with the Chinese giant firm, CCECC, while we await the total re-construction and the palliative work to start, we felt we need to re-visit the pains and the agony of residents of this place. The Lagos-Badagry Expressway is a nightmare to all motorists, pain to road users and headache to business owners in this area.

The bad roads which start from Mile 2 all the way to Badagry leave motorists no option than to take the one-way which leaves the road blocked and most times at a standstill.

AutoReportNG got some daily pictures from the residents that give a daily update on this road, according to reports which used to cover areas like Ojo, Underbridge, Iyana-Iba, Okokomaiko, Iyana-Isashi among others.

According to the images we got, we can confirm that some work has already started in some parts of the road, this can be seen from places like Ojo, Iyana-Iba as been reported.

Disgusting.

A former governor of this state had been the minister of works since the past 4 years.
Rocket science wouldn't let him give us steady electricity.
Voodoo science has forbidden him and FG to make an international road look half decent.
Nigerians...our suffering in the midst of plenty should make God pardon from going to hell, if it does exist.

There’s no politician alive in this country that has good intentions for his/her people. They’re all selfish. I still don’t understand why we still have bad roads, we lack adequate maintenance. Once there are potholes on the road, there should be proper plan in place to rectify it ASAP but here until people are dying in tons or stuck in traffic for hours they don’t care..

I keep saying it,Lagos is the last place to live in all sincerity. The state is too rowdy,rickety,dirty and disorganized, and that made it prone to a lot of vices,human and of course, natural disasters.

I always ask people I know that lives there how they do survive,and go by daily in that slum.

I drag feet to even visit, if it tends unavoidable(which is rare).

Lagos residents, I hail una ooo, but I rather stay in my village than relocating their for living.

D ROAD IS HELL ITSELF

and a former minister of works couldn't repair the road but while not a minister said if he had the opportunity, he will make power steady in Nigeria.

Our dear Lagos is truly becoming a glorified slum o. From V.I to Badagry area. I still believe this is due to the greed of political class and lack of foresightedness. Imagine hours wasted in traffic everyday that could have been used to rest and relax the body systems better.

Let the protest begin at the Local Government level then gradually to the state Government. These Local Government chairmen hardly feel the heat when everyone holds the State Government responsible.

It's just plain wickedness for any government to leave an Express way to become as deplorable as this.To think it's a road that leads to a neighboring country makes it more appalling.
