Obasanjo should take Blame for Buhari’s Presidency

President Olusegun Matthew Obasanjo two time ruler of Nigeria is not a man who would shy away from writing letters. The Ex-General who first made a name for himself during the Civil war for helping crush General Ojukwu’s Biafran army and bringing an end to the first and only civil war that spanned for about two and a bit years.

Obasanjo had over the years spoken against governments, written letters and there are also claims that he was well aware about the coup that removed Alhaji Shehu Shagari from power and even that which toppled the General Muhammadu Buhari Regime in 1985.

Obasanjo had attempted to meddle in the affairs of the nation when Gen Sani Abacha took the reigns through the backdoor but received a backlash from the late dictator who kept him quiet by jailing him.

After Sani Abacha’s death Obasanjo was released and also miraculously picked by the former ruling party now opposition, the People’s Democratic party in 1999 as its Presidential flag bearer.

Olusegun Matthew Obasanjo defeated his fellow yoruba man Chief Olu Falae to return to the highest office, this time through a ballot box.
