Odion Ighalo has retired from international football and he's expected to make the announcement official after an impressing outing at Egypt's AFCON 2019. He was among the Super Eagles Team that won the AFCON Bronze Medal.


Ighalo, who also plays for a Chinese club 'Shanghai Shenhua' limped off in the 44th-minute of the third-place match against Tunisia on Wednesday, July 17.

Ighalo made his National Football debut in 2015 under Daniel Amokachi, he also played his first world cup competition in Russia's 2018 World Cup.

According to Osasuo Obayiuwana, who's a Sports journalist, Ighalo agreed to keep his retirement a secret from the public until after the Third place match against TUNISIA.
