They keep saying they have businesses abroad, i live in Europe, i don't know where the businesses are here. Yea they travel to China for substandard commodities and bring them to Nigeria to sell. What is igbo man business in Malaysia?? Lol I smelt jealousy in your writeup. Most Igbos business are mainly micro to medium scaled. And every economy in the world needs this kind of business. Igbos produce/manufacture locally and as well import. It all depends on dynamics of govt policies. Recently, it is becoming cheaper to import than manufacture bc of cost coming from lack of electricity. Igbos make available all choices for you but you will mostlyprefer imported. Even Nigeria govt like imported cars too! 11 Likes 1 Share |

franchasng: Great, I will reply the guy above.
Igbos also import all the things they sell in China, USA, Gabon, UK, Trinidad & Tobago, Japan, Senegal, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Swaziland, Sao Time, Togo, Cameroon, Barbados, etc
Other Nigerian tribes must have a reason to hate on Igbos
Igbos take risks. They are the first to travel to cities and countries you can ever think of while you are in Nigeria forming Omonile and Oba that doesn't leave his region because his region is paradise for him according to your people.
Igbos are risk takers. They take risks you can't even imagine to startup their business.
For instance, me I am Igbo, I have Yoruba, Hausa, Fulani friends, some I schooled together with, others I did NYSC with and some I worked with during my working days.
While I decided to quit working to build my own business and company of my dream, my friends and mates from Yoruba, Hausa, etc tribes continued looking or new bigger pay jobs to earn fatter salaries with less risk and stress.
They took that route because it is easier, risk free, more dignifying and rewarding at the moment.
At least they dress corporate, put on ties, glittering shoes, clean ride, clean bag and organized office work with good pay.
They have time to go on vacations during their work leave, they post luxury pictures on Facebook, they get lots of likes and comments and respect for being working class.
While I folded my trousers, damned the fact that I am a graduate, threw away my certificates one side, shove pride aside and working hard on my goals.
Tomorrow when my company grows to become a big brand, people like you will come to analyze how Igbos don't do good business or how they are money ritualist.
If not for politics, Igbo man would have been the richest man in Nigeria. Dangote became so rich, all thanks to his political family background and helps he got from various northern controlled federal government for decades.
Same with most Yoruba billionaires; all their wealth can be traced to Niger Delta crude oil, u can quote me any time, any day So why is Authur Eze not the Richest man in Nigeria? Or isn't he into the same Oil Business? What about Igbo men that are into Oil Business? Why are they not the Richest men in Nigeria? Funny things is you guys want to brag about your hawking adventure all over the country but you don't want Yoruba to brag about producing the second Richest Black man in the World and second Richest woman in Africa. You are right that learning to play politics is part of global business, yeah, very correct....but in Nigerian context, so long as you are Igbo, it has automatically disqualified you from any government favor no matter how hard you try, so long as the President is not Igbo. Only very few fortunate Igbos benefited small from former Nigerian Presidents. I will list them for you, including Arthur Eze you mentioned earlier, he benefited from FG. Your last paragraph shows I am arguing with a kid. How many countries have you visited in your life I was wasting my time, thought I was arguing with an exposed person. Until you visit European, Asian, East African, etc countries and see what Igbos are doing there in business, then I can't continue arguing with a kid like you....you only know about Igbos who are artisan traders that own shops in Oshodi market, and that's what you think is Igbo man's business lol...kids 7 Likes 2 Shares |

franchasng: Great, I will reply the guy above.
Igbos also import all the things they sell in China, USA, Gabon, UK, Trinidad & Tobago, Japan, Senegal, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Swaziland, Sao Tome, Togo, Cameroon, Barbados, etc So in all the countries of the world where Igbos excel in business, it is only by selling fake products that Igbos are succeeding even outside Nigeria
Have you ever been to Aba, Nnewi, etc Visit and see Igbo indigenous technology taking place. Have you heard of Made in Aba products that Cameroonians, Kenyans, Chadians, etc do come down to Aba to buy Chinese made products is even killing Made in Aba products that used to be popular.
At Nnewi, Igbos are building products using Igbo indigenous technology and craft, that was how Innoson Motors came to rise. There are hundreds of other smaller unknown Igbo Indigenous factories and productions plants in Nnewi, Awka, Aba, Emene Enugu, etc. Some manufacture automobile parts locally fabricated....some manufacture locally fabricated electrical parts, including spare parts fo motorbikes, bicycles, etc, make a visit to these places I named and see things for yourself and you will begin to respect Igbos more.
Even at Ladipo spare parts market in Lagos, Igbos are doing local fabrication there....doing wonders in Yoruba land too...why can't you visit and see for yourself
Visit South Korea, specifically itaewon city and see how many factories owned by Igbos in far away Korea. Most of the Igbos that own factories in Korea are silent billionaires who rarely visit Nigeria but are confirmed IPOB members, visit and find out.
It is only among Igbo tribe in Nigeria that you will see a rich man who does not even know the Local Government Chairman or governor of his state because his wealth is not linked to politics or government help....but name one rich and famous Hausa, Fulani, Yoruba man that made his money solely by himself without the help of politics, government either through Niger Delta crude oil, political contracts, political appointments, just name one or two.
But Igbos will on their own travel to far away cities and fold the sleeves of their shirts, fold their trousers, forget women, forget marriage, never go home for years and focus on learning one or two businesses, then they spend years or even decades doing that business until they perfect it and gradually become rich without the help of Nigerian government or politics.....while their Hausa, Fulani and Yoruba counterparts are busy using their political connections to secure federal government jobs, contracts, government appointments and favors....and later they turn around to say Igbos don't do good business or that Igbos are ritualists.
Yes we have some unscrupulous Igbos who engage in drug trafficking, we have them in all tribes and races of the world too...and yes Igbos outnumber other Nigerian tribes in drug trafficking....but Yorubas are the stakeholders of money ritual, so every tribe have their vices....but when it comes to business, give it up for Igbos if you are honest to yourself.
Anyway, I have discovered something in Nigeria; other Nigerian tribes must have a reason to hate on Igbos
While I decided to quit working to build my own business and company of my dream, my friends and mates from Yoruba, Hausa, etc tribes continued looking for new bigger pay jobs to earn fatter salaries with less risk and stress, some got federal government juicy jobs based on their political connections.
Same with most Yoruba billionaires; all their wealth can be traced to Niger Delta crude oil, u can quote me any time, any day How many cartons of Of irish beer do you want? Just name it. I am about to order. This is a worthy piece. 4 Likes 2 Shares |

franchasng: You are right that learning to play politics is part of global business, yeah, very correct....but in Nigerian context, so long as you are Igbo, it has automatically disqualified you from any government favor no matter how hard you try, so long as the President is not Igbo.
Only very few fortunate Igbos benefited small from former Nigerian Presidents.
I will list them for you, including Arthur Eze you mentioned earlier, he benefited from FG.
Your last paragraph shows I am arguing with a kid.
How many countries have you visited in your life
I was wasting my time, thought I was arguing with an exposed person.
Until you visit European, Asian, East African, etc countries and see what Igbos are doing there in business, then I can't continue arguing with a kid like you....you only know about Igbos who are artisan traders that own shops in Oshodi market, and that's what you think is Igbo man's business lol...kids You are the kid here The Funny thing here is that you were the first to brought Yoruba business men into this argument Aren't you guys the one bragging about 2 by 2 shops? Talking down on Business men from other tribes and giving excuses for why your business men are the least successful? You want to brag about your activities but don't want others to do the same, is that not Hypocrisy? Have you also heard about the Yoruba business man from Nigeria that own 3 Airport in United Kingdom? Because you are talking like you are also the only tribe in Nigeria that do business outside Nigeria |

MoneyMan5:
Keep giving excuses and crying victims for all your failure
Authur Eze deal in Oil and so many other Rich Igbo men
Why can't they dethrone Dangote that deal in Cement as the Richest man in Africa?
No tribe led the senate more than the Igbo in this country
Goodluck Jonathan tenure lasted for 6 years and he included Igbo in his government, why didn't you get government concessions too if truly those men are rich because of government concessions?
What about your numerous years in leading the senate?
You want to keep bragging about your 2 by 2 shops but you don't want Yoruba to brag about producing the second Richest Black man in the World and second Richest woman in Africa
Igbos will prefer having 100 igbos who have 1 billion dollars each than 1 man who has 100 billion dollars. Hence you can't find one man like Dangote sitting on top of the hierarchy while his people are highest at the base of the hierarchy as beggars, urchins and almajiris. On dethroning Dangote on cement, please Google what was done to ibeto cement by the fgn for Dangote sake. I won't waste time on it. Igbos don't sit and wail like you and others. They pick up themselves and keep pushing. Do you see those guys managing in a 2 by 2 shop? Their mates faced with the same life's circumstance in Yoruba are at the bus stop shouting owoda, collecting money they didn't work for, and wasting thereafter on shekpe, prostitutes and igbò. One of the first culture shocks of any igbo visiting South west is how some able bodied men will be at the bus stop, demanding for money they didn't earn. It was discovered that touting on the road is the highest employer of labour in Yoruba land. If that doesn't make you ashamed, then you have no shame. Finally, why are you pained? The Hausa/fulani whom Asari's response was addressed to have not spoken and you have become more pained at the igbos success story. I can identify two things in your action- 1. Envy and jealous of a people whom God has blessed to the extent that you can jump into what doesn't concern you out of envy. 2. Complete slave mentality and servitude to the hausa/fulanis to the extent that you will take up their fight while they keep silent. You need deliverance first before engaging in an argument. It is very obvious you are in sifia Pain When it come to poverty rate in the South Igbo are still the poorest and the wretched tribe In the South I don't give a fuucck about Igbo, one of you was the first to brought Yoruba business men to the discussion If you want to brag and give excuses for your failure in life stop talking down on other tribes You want to brag about your 2 by 2 activities but don't want others to brag, that is pure hypocrisy you talk down on other tribes hustle and want people to accept your hustle as the only legit one Igbo are still the Alimajiri of the South. Ibeto was flooding market and weakening our economy with imported cements from other countries outside Nigeria but you want the government to support him over someone that is manufacturing cements in Nigeria and other Africa countries, gain forex for the country and also strengthen our Economy If Ibeto cements want to compete with Dangote why can't he start manufacturing cement like Dangote instead of flooding our market with imported cement and weakening our Economy? Does that sound like a competition to you? You guys are deluded |

Fake statistics...if SW is the least in poverty index....can you explain these...? “So far, we have 455,857 poor and vulnerable households uploaded onto the National Social Register, from which 297,973 households have been mined and are being paid stipends in 20 States. “These States are Jigawa Bauchi, Kogi, Osun, Cross River, Anambra, Katsina, Kano, Taraba, Gombe, Adamawa, Niger, Nassarawa, Benue, Oyo, Ekiti, Kwara, Borno (IDP), Kaduna and Plateau. Mrayam Uwais (Special Adviser to the president on National Social Investment Programme) https://www.nairaland.com/4367336/80million-people-poor-nigeria-presidencyHere you have Osun, Oyo, Ekiti, (Kwara 79% are Yorubas) while you have only Anambra from the SE. again... List of 9 pilot test states for the poorest Nigerians, the poor receive N5,000 handout. Bauchi, Borno, Kwara , Kogi , Niger - North Cross River - South South Ekiti , Osun and Oyo - South West Nil - South East ------------------------------------------------ You can see that the trend is consistent with the government effort to reduce poverty. SW seems to be lower in your graph because of Lagos where you have Nigerians of all tribes. You should try and get more education to be able to analyse trends, ogbeni 5 Likes |
