Members of Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN) has embarked on yet another protest on streets of Abuja, the nation’s capital.

The protesters are demanding the release of their leader, Ibrahim El-zakzaky, detained since 2015 when members of the group clashed with personnel of the Nigerian Army.

The Federal Government has refused to release the cleric despite being ordered to do so by competent courts of jurisdiction, citing national security as reason.

Recent protest by the IMN members popularly known as Shiites, often turn bloody with the deadliest involving the dead of a Deputy Commissioner of Police and some members of the group.

Yesterday, the group lost one of it members when they clashed with security operatives.

Commencing their demonstration today, TODAY POLITICS learnt that they began their protest from Wuse Market heading to Julius Berger bridge.

The protest, this reporter learnt, is peaceful as at the time of filling this report.

Disobedience to court orders is not good for democracy. The man should be released and let face other issues like how Chris Ngige made the ministerial list..
