Nigeria is a sovereign nation and is bigger than any individual living in or identifying as a Nigerian.
I think the presidency/ foreign affairs ministry should caution Iran on their interference in our affairs.

El Zazzaky and his group should be blamed for allowing religion and strangers outside Nigeria to use them as pawns to destabilise Nigeria.

Muslims up north need to reflect and stop being taken advantage of by either Saudi Arabia (Sunni) or Iran through El zazzaky’s shiite movement.

Iran is the major Shi'ite power on earth. Their moral backbone. Settling this matter in Nigeria starts by ensuring the government has the Iranians on their side to douse off the tension. By reaching an understanding, and allowing him to go and treat himself and not return (exile), it is better than to leave him die in prison.

The man, even if he returns cannot lead any fight. He is already shaken and sick. He has lost an eye and was shot thrice during the Zaria Massacre. He lost three sons and hundreds of followers. And the Shi'ites have always said they're not armed and don't want to fight and they are opposed to using violence. So now is the time to make them prove their words.

Releasing him to treat himself in Nigeria or even abroad without a good deal is a bad move. Getting the Iranians onboard is to the advantage of the government. That is how I see it.
