He's the champion, he dictates the terms. Anthony Joshua has no option but to abide by his terms if he wants to get his belts back

He can't run away from the contract he signed.

And you think the rematch contract would not include a clause that AJ would decide the venue?

When a champion presents a rematch contract to a challenger, they typically include clauses that would favour them, including deciding the choice of venue
It does not include any clause that AJ should decide a venue

Very wrong! Ruiz is the champion, the holder of the belts and have the right to determine where the rematch would be suitable for him.... He once mentioned Mexico or the US.... Joshua earlier said he would love to redeem his image at US where he fell.... Why UK all of a sudden I strongly support Ruiz, its a trap!!! In my own opinion, the US where the first fight was held is the best location for the rematch....
You guys should stop saying what you don't know! Before a title match in boxing, there's always a rematch clause that the holder, should he lose, would evoke the contract therein. Often times, the clause favours the present holder more than the contender. That Ruiz has the belts does not absolve him from the clause. He isn't free from Anthony Joshua until he beats him again, then, and only then can he decide who he wants to fight and where.

I don't know where you got your news from. AJ evoked the clause almost immediately after he lost the fight and said the rematch would be in the UK.

Stop displaying ignorance, Google is your friend.

Ruiz shocked the world last month, Ruiz dropped Joshua four times to secure a seventh round stoppage and captured the IBF, IBO, WBA, WBO heavyweight titles.

joshua-ruiz (2)_2

There is a rematch clause, which Joshua exercised.

Despite Ruiz's numerous statements in the media with respect to money and making the fight in Mexico, most promoters will establish the rematch location, and the financial terms, in the initial bout agreement.

So when Ruiz signed on for the first bout, the rematch terms were already outlined in that contract.

Ruiz took the fight as a late replacement for Jarrell Miller, who was pulled from the fight after failing three drug tests.

“Andy Ruiz Jr is an honorable stand up guy. He knows what he signed and it wasn’t unfair what he signed but he has contractual obligations that he has to meet now. Andy Ruiz was chosen from a group of people because we believed he would be the best most competitive fight for Anthony Joshua – we were right," Hearn told IFL TV.

“And then, if he was to win that fight, as set out in the contract there were a number of terms that he would have to adhere to. It’s very standard. It’s not, ‘oh that was out of order, he is the A-side now’.

"No, this was what was agreed by both parties. Negotiated and agreed. Joshua will be the one who ultimately decides where that fight takes place

The fat man is afraid of being annihilated by an angrier and focused Anthony Joshua eager to land a career ending blow on this fat hippopotamus. Anyone who watched the 1st match knows Anthony Joshua was playing around with this beach whale and now he thinks he's so good Anthony would need performance enhancing drugs to defeat him. Anthony Joshua should go ahead and agree to a rematch at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas and reclaim his glory once and for all.

That fat man is the world heavyweight champion. He has only one loss so far. And he will also beat every member of your family even if you all were to mob him at once. If you think he is a joke, check his fights. Anthony Joshua is the scared one here. Ruiz is the champion, he has every right to dictate the terms.

My exact thoughts!

There may have been a setup Joshua walked into.

It could have been anything that was applied to make Joshua weak or something.

A different environment would be better for both fighters.

If AJ should fight ten times in US against an American, he can't win. You don't know how dubious the Americans are. Just go and check the records. Also, AJ doesn't knw when to be serious in the ring, he is always weak and exposed in rounds 6&7. After watching all his fights in 2017-18, I told people around me that he can't last as a champion. He and his team never worked on his weakness.

If you watched the match, Ruiz fell flat just some rounds into the fight. He looked defeated, only for Joshua to start falling like a Mango tree. He came back to Ruiz severally just to be punched after falling. Joshua is an amazing fighter and Ruiz definitely cannot match him. Perhaps you visit the Klitschko - Joshua fight again to better understand the latter's strength.

Is it any surprising that Joshua lost and won most of the money, leaving Ruiz with just a fraction, Ruiz being the winner? Perhaps you didn't know that a new winner earns more than the defeated champ. Mike Tyson, Anthony Joshua defeating Vladimir Klitschko, even welter weights like Mayweather... All cashed out heavily when when they won the belt. That's the way the sports is. Why there is little noise in Ruiz's camp is because his win wasn't legit. He is allowed to thrash talk and make it look real but in the end, it's all a facade.

Contention for the title overtime has thinned out and become boring. Joshua's matches were barely watched because everyone was sure he'd win. It was only normal that dubious contracts that would allow the holder lose a while be put in place to allow for more viewership which translates to making money.

On a normal, Ruiz against Joshua won't even produce a draw.

Ruiz cannot insist anything outside the contract he has signed.
It seems like you guys have no clue what legal contracts are.

Ruiz is only making noise on Twitter to try and influence things. The decision-maker according to the contract is Joshua. Not even Hearn. If Joshau says Cardiff, then it is Cardiff.

There is nothing Ruiz can do unless he wants to back out of the contract. He will be stripped of the belts, fined and then banned from boxing for a while. Lets see if he wants to take this juicy route to oblivion.

""It seems like you guys have no clue what legal contracts are.""

You are right bro if Ruiz could used the word *set up* it means something is fishy somewhere. Remember the last wird AJ uttered in the ring when he was floored AJ asked his manager *why I'm I feeling this way*** That statement goes a long way.

I suspect Ruiz gang.

You typed Complete rubbish. The guy you quoted is right, and you obviously know nothing about boxing and its rules. Ruiz doesn't dictate nothing. There's a match contract they signed for the first fight and it was a 2-fights contract and loser was entitled to a rematch etc, but the only mistake Eddie hearn and Joshua made was they didn't specify the location for the rematch, they didn't make it an ironclad contract because they never expected Ruiz to win. So all Ruiz can only make noise about is choosing a venue, every other thing is on AJ's terms. Fat idiot that got lucky be making mouth..

Bros abeg no mind dem. The way these guys hype AJ baffles me. They think that Ruiz is one of those petty boxers, they are ignorant of the fact that the young man has only a loss to date and that came under controvesial circumstance.

Those dumb folks claim the Ruiz victory against AJ was fixed, does it also mean that all AJ's victories were fixed also? AJ is always scared of fighting outside the UK, he lost to Ruiz on his very first attempt of doing that

Make dem no dey overhype AJ because he only performs in the UK. He isn't like Fury who doesn't give a damn about venue & location. Fury will destroy you home, away or neutral Ground

Professor of boxing who knows it all, teach me! You just said what I was arguing about since yesterday! The other guys were arguing with me that there was an agreed location for the rematch which was UK and I said its totally wrong because I'm current with all boxing news. After the fight, AJ said he would exercise his rematch clause, AR accepted and said he wished it would hold in Mexico. AJ was considering US where he was beaten up mercilessly.... So it was not clearly stated they would have the rematch at UK as you rightly said, AJ with his ego and pride never believed the fats ass AR will mess him up...

AJ isn't like Tyson Fury, Fury doesn't give a damn about locations. He went to Ukraine and dealt with Klitshko and after being away from the game for some months, he still went to the States and took the wild Wilder head-on. AJ should learn how to fight outside the UK
