A Snake Killed This Afternoon, Please Help With The Name. by Clakyvip: 2:58pm On Jul 29, 2019 |
Just around 2pm today, I was walking round my compound, when I noticed a frog hopping around, I kept staring at the frog, then after a little while I noticed the frog was trying to escape from something, I didn’t see the snake because the skin was exactly like the color of the soil/ground, I moved a bit closer and I saw a snake, I ran back to get a stick, I smashed it at the snake and killed it, Please I have never seen this type of snake before, can someone help me with the name, to know if they are venomous or poisonous. Thanks.

The snake was killed in the south west area of Nigeria, maybe the location can help with the name. Thanks. |

Use stick or cutlass to check if it has fangs. That's the only way to know if it's venomous or not. But that snake has a V-shape head and V-shape headed snakes are known to be venomous. |

Where is the snake? Oh I had to take a closer look coz it blends well with the ground. Get a picture on another background so snake enthusiasts can see the features more clearly and give you a name. |

Bros the urge to get the snake to nairaland will not injure you. You've not killed the snake totally bro. Cut the head and buried it or crush it. Leaving snake like this is very dangerous. Meanwhile i don't know the name but am sure uncle lala can help you |

Puff adder. It resembles python but has a broken line on it's back from head to tail. Short tail. Very slow but deadly. Thank your stars . 1 Like |
